      Dissociative WILD

      My old adopter helped figure this out with me. Its a different form of WILD that has really helped me and some of my adoptees out. Tell me if it helps you..

      Dissociative Technique to WILD

      1. Lay down and throughout all of these steps ignore any sensations from the body, and above all, dont move.
      2. Take a few deep breaths in a pattern as if you were already asleep.
      3. Let your breathing return to normal and forget about it. Place your attention on the space imbetween your eyes.
      4. Watch for and describe any images and sounds that occur to you. I don't mean the lights that play behind your closed eyelids, I mean full color images. If you are not prone to strong visualization skills then I suspect that you will hear sounds at this stage. Describe any sounds that you hear. If you do not visualize well then in the following steps use your tactile sense to feel the things that you are to 'see'.
      It really doesnt matter if you see it or not, what matters is that you engage your mind and place your POV outside of your body. You may use image-streaming technique at this point describing anything you see to generate HI.
      5. Continue describing what you see and/or hear for a few minutes - or skip to step 6.
      6. Now imagine/feel a dark tunnel around you. Imagine/feel that you have a body and you are falling through this tunnel. Feel the wind in your hair as you fall. DO this for a few minutes.You *may* describe what you see/hear/feel during this time.
      7. Now bring your focus back to your eyes. By this time your body should be in light SP. Visualize/feel a yellow ORB floating above your head, between your eyes. Maintain this visualization/tactile sense for a few minutes. If it wavers at all or if you lose track of it, bring it back!
      8. After the ORB seems pretty solid from your constant vigil of it, begin to move it around the room. As always, you *may* describe what you see/hear/feel during this time. As you move it you may see your room around you. Just consider this the memory of what the room looks like and continue. Dont get too excited about anything that you see, in order to alter your state of mind, you must maintain a certain passivity.
      Move the ORB all around your room.
      9. Now move the orb outside and describe what you see. Dont worry if you cant see anything. Or, if you are more a tactile person, describe what your "astral/dream hands" feel all around you. Once you get info of what its like outside, bring the ORB back to its position between your eyes.
      10. Now move the ORB a few feet away from you. You must at this point place your POV IN the ORB. I do this by imagining what the ORB would see if it had eyes. There is a sense of movement associated with this too. You shouldnt be in the space between your eyes anymore, it should not FEEL that way. I should stress that this is an act of pure imagination.
      I am not saying that you actually move your awareness into some orb floating in the air. Its all imagination at this point, and thats fine. I believe what is important is that this act is symbolic of your desire to expand your awareness beyond the confines of your body. This is not the actual mechanism of the seperation, that comes from this point on, slowely in the form of an altered state that I call dissociation.
      The first few times you place your POV in the ORB you may get a strange feeling of disorientation. Thats fine, just move through it. If you find it difficult to maintain this POV thats normal too, you just need to spend some time there.
      11. Once your POV is placed on the ORB the vision should not waver. If it does, I suggest going back to your body and shifting into the ORB agian, as many times as it takes. Its an act of will and requires will power. Make it bend to your will, use your mental energy as you see fit, and dont except no for an answer.
      If you see a steady image of what the ORB sees then start flying around. The image should not be choppy, it should be smooth and your POV should shift as you move, as it would in real life. Move through your wall outside. Travel around your neighborhood and as always you *may* describe what you see/hear/feel.
      12. After a few minutes, cause a door to appear a few feet away from you. You are about to have a WILD. The door will cause your subconcious to create a reality on the other side because by moving through the door with no thought as to what is on the other side, your SC must take over. Once you have the door stable in your field of view, fly through it.
      You *may* describe the place where you end up. Explore. From here on out, things should happen that surprise you. You should not be creating or visualizing anything anymore other than props that you might need, like chairs, lol.
      And thats what we've come up with so far - there may be updates on this technique later!

      Note 1: By describing what you see/feel/hear during the technique you activate a part of your brain that boosts the vividness and probability of seeing full blown images - it is basically just like the image-streaming technique. You don't need to do this step in the process
      that's why I say *may*.
      Note 2: Concerning the ORB, I make it yellow because this is the color that I associate with alertness. So, a yellow ORB may keep you more focused. It just conveys more energy than say green, or lavender.
      I insist that it stay yellow and not morph into anything else. It'll keep you alert while everything else is shutting down.

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      I use a rundown of this technique. I dont usually describe everything heard/felt/ or seen, but I do the basic steps, and it works just fine.
      What a great technique. Immaculately described. Getting the right mindset for a WILD is the hardest thing to do, but you just managed to put it into words. Again, great technique; although I would say it's more like a VILD.
      Gonna try it and post feedback
      I have some questions regarding this. When you say light SP how does that differ for normal SP? In steps 8 and 9 when you move the orb around what POV do you use to look at things? Finally how long should this process take on average before you start LD-ing?
      Light sleep-parylis isnt the heavy feeling you get when in normal SP, but you should be able to feel like you cant move, and are drifting away from every day senses. You can still feel them there, but they arent completley dissattached from you.
      In steps 8 and 9, you are in a sense watching the orb float around, watching it get a view of things inside and outside. Your POV isnt in the orb just yet, but you are getting the feel of the orb, and how to maneuver it.
      On average, it takes about a half four without falling asleep or drifting. Staying completley focused. Thats for the technique.
      The first time I tried this, I had a half OBE, if you may. I could feel the upper half of my dreambody sitting up, while my legs stayed flat. I wasnt going for the OBE, but it just happened.
      After trying this for a week, I started getting better effects out of it. Going through the door, I've found myself in a baseball field, ina barn, in a field. All purley lucid. This technique works for me, I hope it helps you.
      Any more questions? Feel free to ask, to critique. I'll try to help you out to the best of my abilities.
      Just reading this made me forget about my body! Perhaps I should try this imaginative technique at the beginning of WILD (where morale and motivation is most low) and revert to counting once my body feels completely comfortable. I shall try it tonight!
      This sounds fantastic I am definately going to give this a try tonight when I wake. There are a few variations of regular WILD techniques I've decided to try and completely forgotten, or just continued with my regular attempts - but I'm going to make a note of attempting this.
      I'm just typing up my dream notes from last night into my journal and remembed some cryptic advice was given to me about the colour yellow by a dream character. I really can't remember what he said, but it was definately about yellow!
      Good job ouija! Let us know if anything else happens.
      I never did nail the door part down at the end, I just kind of flew through and open space in my wall -_-
      Oh I haven't tried the method yet. I'm just about to go to bed. It's just that as I was reading it at work today I realised the colour yellow was quite relevant in last night's dream. Quite bizarre. Anyway, I'm going to bed just now. I'll attempt this in a few hours time and post back any info. I've yet to succeed at WILDing so maybe tonight will be the night
      Well I attempted this at 4am this morning. It felt a little different and once I managed to visualise my room in more detail, the rest just kind of fell into place. My visualisations aren't too vivid though so I had to concentrate quite hard. SP came quite quickly, from what I can gather from my perception of time.
      When I eventually did visualise a doorway there was nothing on the other side. Maybe I had gone through the process too quickly, but I just rolled over and went to sleep.
      I believe this technique isn't for me. I've had a hard time visualising what needs to be visualised and have gone back to concentrating on my breathing and counting.
      I'm sorry to hear that, ouija. I guess some people are good at concentrating the others at just letting it flow. Hope you find your technique!
