      For women only

      You'll see rather quickly why guys shouldn't be involved in this project.

      I was just wondering if "that time of the month" affects the dream process in women. I would assume there could be certain changes due to hormones and other factors, but I want this hypothesis to be more scientifically aproached. So, I would like for women to volunteer to record certain things that might be of note during "that time".

      1. Dates of entries
      2. Number of dreams per night
      3. Quality/vividness of dreams
      4. Content of dream and type (ie. violent, emotional, neutral, etc.)
      5. Number of hours slept approximately
      6. Number of times subject awoke during the night

      Any other information you think would be pertinent, feel free to add to this list. If you would like I can draw up a sample sheet that can be printed out to help you keep track of results. I myself will be participating. This post will be running for a while so that more accurate conclusions may be drawn. Thanks for your help in this endeavor!

      NOTE: Males may only post if they have something truly significant to mention.

      You might wanna rephrase that, it's like saying \"Males only post if they have something important to say, but females post whatever the hell you want.\". But it's not like anybody cares.

      Good luck with the project.

      God DAMNIT Ame, sorry I didn't see this thread earlier. At least now you have a female posting in here. (damn you terd monkey boys!!! ) Well, if you want to get rid of them girl, you gotta talk about stuff that disgusts them.

      Anyhooptydoo, good timing, I'm starting my period in about a week. Mine are usually pretty heavy and long () , so I should be able to give you some decent data. Ok I'll let you know how it goes.

      I'm on those new pills where you only have it four times a year, so I doubt I'll be much help with this.

      Haha, thanks Seeker baby.

      ================================================== ========

      Ok, yesterday was the first day of my period, so last night I had my first dream of my cycle (think I'll just edit the same post for each dream).

      10/23/04:

      I dreamt about adidas...how weird. I dreamt that I was present during the taking of those pictures of him at college. Then we had this torrid love affair. But in the dream, I was merely remembering the affair, as if it had happened before the dream started. So there are no details that I can remember, sorry. Anyway, he and I were trying to keep it a secret. Then we got into this bizarre discussion about what we would do if the other died first. Went like this:

      Adidas: If I go first, you can come to the funeral, but don't give a eulogy. Just throw 3 rocks on my coffin.
      Ophelia: rocks
      Adidas: Well, it might upset my mom if a girl she doesn't know gives me a loving eulogy.
      Ophelia: and rocks are clearly a better choice
      Adidas: yes
      Ophelia: course, silly me
      Adidas: looks at some chics walking around on the campus
      Ophelia: k if I go first I want the eulogy, no rocks

      Later on in the dream I remember I had Chris with me because we were going to visit Adidas and go do something like lunch together I guess. But before we got there I fell while holding him and he started crying. There's something else but I can't remember it.

      Note: My mom said that Jewish people set rocks on gravestones of their loved ones when they visit the grave. Interesting.

      1. Dates of entries: 10/23/04
      2. Number of dreams per night: 1 long one (interesting, usually I have several short ones)
      3. Quality/vividness of dreams: excellent, very vivid visually and aurally and emotionally, and was long and continuous instead of choppy and spastic
      4. Content of dream and type (ie. violent, emotional, neutral, etc.): emotional and a bit melancholy
      5. Number of hours slept approximately: 7
      6. Number of times subject awoke during the night: 0 (also interesting, I usually wake once or twice)
      7. Alcohol consumed before bed: 2 glasses of wine

      ================================================== ========

      10/24/04:

      No dreams that I can recall...only slept like 4 hours cuz CT kept me up late, hehe.

      Better luck tonight!

      2. Number of dreams per night: no dreams recalled

      7. Alcohol consumed before bed: none

      ================================================== ========

      10/25/04:

      Got about 6 hours last night. I dreamt that I visited CT in Holland, and we were on his bed taking pictures. Like, I was holding the camera above us, trying to get both of us in the picture. Was really sweet. That's all I remember because the alarm interrupted it. Not a very long dream at all, oh well.

      1. Dates of entries: 10/25/04
      2. Number of dreams per night: 1 short one
      3. Quality/vividness of dreams: pretty clear
      4. Content of dream and type (ie. violent, emotional, neutral, etc.): playful, fun, sweet, happy
      5. Number of hours slept approximately: 6
      6. Number of times subject awoke during the night: 0
      7. Alcohol consumed before bed: 0

      ================================================== ========

      10/26/04:

      Slept 3 hours. No recalled dreams.

      1. Dates of entries: 10/26/04
      2. Number of dreams per night: no dreams recalled
      3. Quality/vividness of dreams: n/a
      4. Content of dream and type (ie. violent, emotional, neutral, etc.): n/a

      6. Number of times subject awoke during the night: 0
      7. Alcohol consumed before bed: none

      ================================================== ========

      10/27/04:

      Slept 5 hours. JUST enough time for 1 quick dream on the last day of my cycle. I dreamt that I was singing with this opera company I used to a few years back in Houston. All I remember was the chauvanistic conductor really getting after this one soprano. Can't remember specifics, but it was really unfair. So I stood up for her by yelling at him. Remember it felt really great!!! That's all I remember though.

      1. Dates of entries: 10/27/04
      2. Number of dreams per night: 1 dream recalled
      3. Quality/vividness of dreams: fairly clear
      4. Content of dream and type (ie. violent, emotional, neutral, etc.): empowered
      5. Number of hours slept approximately: 5
      6. Number of times subject awoke during the night: 0
      7. Alcohol consumed before bed: none

      ================================================== ========

      [b]Ok, to sum up here: the first night of my cycle yielded the longest and most vivid dream (the one with adidas). But I also slept really well that night. So I apologize for the crappiness of my research, I should have tried to get the same number of hours each night. But I was busy being entertained by someone. If you don't think I too incredibly suck, I would like to try this experiment again next month. And I'll commit to consistant sleep hours and omit as many other variables as possible. Ok Ame?

      Ophelia, do you normally dream a lot about DV members?
      Just wondering if thats something that could possibly be attributed to the experiment, or if its 'normal' ...

      Actually I do!! Most of the time it is innocent, but occasionally I get a juicy one.
