LILD induction method-does it work?
Hey guys, this is an excerpt from Wikipedia (yes,that free encyclopedia)
LILD stands for "Lucid Induction of Lucid Dreams", or sometimes, "Lucidly Induced Lucid Dream".
To use this technique, you need to have a lucid dream in the first place, but it can help you to get more later. The idea is to do something in your dream that will help you to become lucid the next time you are dreaming. For example, you could ask a dream character for help — ask them to meet you the next night and tell you that you're dreaming. If it works out the way it should, then the next time you are dreaming, the dream character will walk up to you and tell you that you're dreaming, and so you'll (hopefully) become lucid. There are many variations on this technique; you could set up signs in your dreamworld that remind you to do a reality check or eat lucid pills instead! This technique is not likely to be very effective, but it can work; it relies on the chance that you'll subconsciously induce the reminder (i.e., the dream character or sign or whatever you used) during some later dream, and become lucid because of it.
ok now that you know what it is, wikipedia mentions that the rating is RED, there have been no anecdotes of this method working.
so i want to have an experiment to see if this method is a working,functional one or if it is a failed theory.
So.
Ill need a few participants to perform the method shown above, maybe 10 max, and you can PM me your results. Please post here saying whether or not youd like to participate and any thoughts or additions you may have.
So here be the experiment procedure.
1. Use any method of induction to get into a lucid dream
2. you should then proceed to use one of the techniques described in the method. These could be:
a) Summoning a dream guide or dream character (prefferably a common one) and asking them to help you achieve lucidity in your next . dream by telling you that you are in a dream
B) Set up signs in your dreamworld and then use a VILD or dream incubation technique (FAT etc) to get you into the same dreamscape . next time you are dreaming
c) Use a variation of these techniques or one of your own devising (should not deviate too much from these techniques though!)
3. Go to sleep next night with a VILD or FAT of the dreamscape you picked (only applies if you picked technique 2.B) or go to sleep . NORMALLY. This means do not attempt any other techniques such as MILD WILD or WBTB, unless-previously mentioned- if you chose . technique 2.b. This will keep the number of variables to a minimum and will show if the lucid dream really caused by LILD and not by . any other technique you practiced that night.
4. If you happen to go into a lucid dream, take note of any and all features and details and memorise them. If not, you will need to keep a . note on the dream that you had, so as to see if LILD had any effect whatsoever on the dream period that night.
5. After doing this maybe 2/3 times, compile a report in the format shown below and send it to me via a PM
Results format should be as follows.
1/ What method you used in step 1
2/ Description of the (lucid?) dream as a whole (if any)
3/ Technique used in step 2 when you achieve lucidity after step 1
4/ If tech 2.a used, description of all the dream characters/guides actions and reactions,speech etc. If tech 2.b used what signs were set up . type of dreamscape you were in etc. If tech 2.c used, what method did you invent, why and a description of what happened when you . used it.
5/ If tech 2.b used, what method did you use to incubate a dream?
6/ A description of your dream after the night of your first 'framework' lucid dream. Anything that could be vaguely related to or was maybe . caused by the LILD effects should be included.
7/ Amount of attempts at this experiment
8/ Any relevant information you wish to add
If all goes well this could end up being a new method,but it is mostly to see if this theory from an unknown author who added it on wikpedia (that free encyclopedia) works at all,and what effects it has.
