      Music/Alarm ILD idea...

      Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with inducing a lucid dream using music? My alarm buzzing constantly works itself into my dreams in the mornings before my mind actually figures out its my alarm and wakes me up. I have had it cause fire alarms in dreams, car horns honking at me, etc. etc. All kinds of random things, but eventually the irritation grabs my conscious attention and I wake up.

My thought at the moment is to have a very low volume(to avoid being startled awake) cd/mixtape start playing at around 3 or 4 in the morning, always the exact same music. I don't expect immediate results, but once my subconscious develops a memory of this music, just like it does with your alarm(when you get used to it and it stops waking you up)... I can use it to become lucid. I would hope that whatever it was I was doing in the dream will be altered by the music in a noticeable way.

Anyone have any luck with a similar technique or any hints or suggestions on improving it? Thanx in advance!

It sounds like your plan would work fairly well. It would be even better if you recorded yourself saying "You are dreaming, Reality check!" or something along the lines of that. You could even have the music playing in the background of you saying it!

      P.S.: Your avatar is creepy

Yes, this is the EILD technique. Takes a bit of work to get your external source perfectly set, but can work.
