A way to potentially drastically increase your rate of RCs.
A friend told me about this and it sounds pretty promising.
This is what you do:
- Buy a digital watch.
- Make sure it's the kind that beeps every hour (or more).
- Whenever it beeps, immediately pull an RC. Look at some text, a clock, plug your nose etc. You know the drill.
- Keep that habit up as long as you can.
- Every night (this is the important part), sleep with your watch on or have it on a bedside table. Make it beep every hour, or if possible, adjust it to your REM cycles.
- Chances are you'll hear the beeping in your dreams and your first impulse will be preforming an RC, and if not, then the beeping alone might make you go lucid just like the NovaDreamer would with it's lights.
It's basically just another EILD technique but I would imagine it works better than the NovaDreamer even if only because of that extra association factor. Results would probably improve if you use this in conjunction with WBTB, dream stimulants or anything other in that direction.

So far I can only report one instance where I went lucid using this technique, yet with little control (but that's just because I'm a klutz) and I also happened to have had two cans of red bull shortly before going to bed (they have the opposite effect on me) and was incredibly tired from studying for finals and stuff so results may vary. :bigteeth:
Just thought I'd put it out there to see what others think and possibly test the validity of this method.
