There is evidence both ways, it is very inconclusive. They haven't actually found life here, they are using very abstract properties of some chemical reactions on the surface to infer life.
The technique needs to be proven via blind trials on a wide range of life-bearing and sterile material on Earth.
Yeah, I understand that. It's that I just don't think we want to paint the picture that 'inconclusive' means the same as 'insignificant.' I didn't know about those findings, before. If they are accurate, I think it is amazing, and I'm surprised to just be hearing about it now. Makes me much more excited about the pending missions we have going now. :)

When I clicked on the thread, I thought this was a joke, playing off how Vikings actually discovered the Americas before Columbus.
