Deuterium DIY: Man Builds Homemade Nuclear Fusion Reactor in Brooklyn | Popular Science This is freaking awesome anyways but it made it especially awesome for me because I had a dream about inventing this! In the dream, I was looking under the hood of a futuristic car that looked much like a prius. Instead of a battery pack, there was an engine that looked just like the image of this fusion reactor. I have been going over it in my head for a few years now trying to figure out how to build it; turns out this guy was way ahead of me!

As the news piece says, this is nothing particularly special. I would be much more interested in news from ITER.

Pretty cool, I didn't realise this was a hobby. Dunno what kind of reactor 'fuses neutrons', though.

It's pretty cool how people have been doing this DIY style. My friend made one but the downside is they are extremely inefficient returning like 1/40 of the energy put in.

I can't imagine what kind of particle fusing a set of neutrons would produce. Then again, I'm not an energy physicist.

Neutron blob. I believe free neutrons decay into protons after something like 15 minutes though, so I guess these things just turn into normal matter.
