• # Thread: Why is this?

1. ## Why is this?

2. Just kidding, it's simply because that's the beauty of math. Also, that picture has nothing to do with this, I just thought I'd through it in to make it look like I had a logical explanation. Honestly, I have no clue what it means xD

3. Cool! Instead of doing 1234567 * 8 + 7, do 1234567 * 10 - 1234567 + 7 - 1234567. This should demonstrate that this trick will work in any (sensible) base for a number that's 2 less than your base (instead of 8), which is basically what you were asking.

4. Why do I get the feeling you lost interest when it transpired that this wasn't due to the inexplicable esoteric numerology at the heart of the sacred fractal universe...

7. Whether or not that's true, you didn't deny it.

8. I don't find it necessary to deny such a worthless comment.

10. I have to agree. You (Omnis) contributed nothing to the thread after Xei explained "why this is" and when he made an, in all likelihood, accurate assumption as to why, you got upset. Sure, the assumption might have seemed a bit harsh but you still have yet to deny it to be true. What exactly was the point of the thread again? I mean, Xei gave you everything you asked for and you practically abandoned the thread altogether. This is a serious question, by the way. I'm not trying to be an ass, I just legitimately want to know. It obviously had a purpose, it's a shame for it to end in pointless negativity like this if it really did.

11. The assumption is inaccurate. I contributed nothing more because the question was answered. I wasn't offended that something had a logical explanation. I am slightly offended that you would assume so, though, and frankly it made me lose a lot of respect for you.

12. The polite thing to do Omnis is to give some kind response, not just completely ignore it when somebody puts in some effort to give a decent reply to your question. In this case the puzzle was enjoyable enough in itself, thanks for posting it. But still... simple manners.

13. I was waiting to see if someone with more math related intelligence had something to add to it. I'm out of my comfort zone and probably couldn't generate a very good response.

14. It worked, didn't it?

15. Xei is actually way off base in his answer. OP was right to wait for someone with "more mathematical intelligence" to respond. It's because of the sacred nature of eight and nine. Eight is the Great Fractal Reverser and one has to add all the numbers between one and nine to finish the reversal. So nine is The Great Fractal Reverser Completer. Note the sacred conjugational connection between them as well. 8 = 23 while 9 = 32. This a sign of related but opposite properties. Here eight begins the reversal and nine completes it.

16. Oh yeah! And if you take an eight, turn on it its side, and look through it like a set of glasses, you get to see people's auras!

17. I don't know Philo, that isn't quite right either. You forgot to mention the quantizing of the initialization vectors. Without that, 9 really just is a 9.

18. I wish I knew this stuff.

19. That's not a nine. That's just a three dressed up as a nine.

21. ^^ So that would be a PhdSG? Is Sacred Geometry taught in many Univerities, or is a mountaintop location required?

22. You don't get a PhD, you get a Phi, the most sacred ratio in the multiverse.

23. Perphect!

24. Does this relate at all to Fibonacci Sequence?

25. No.
