      GMO controversy: pretty much settled

The Debate About GMO Safety Is Over, Thanks To A New Trillion-Meal Study - Forbes

The field data represented more than 100 billion animals covering a period before 1996 when animal feed was 100% non-GMO, and after its introduction when it jumped to 90% and more. The documentation included the records of animals examined pre and post mortem, as ill cattle cannot be approved for meat.

What did they find? That GM feed is safe and nutritionally equivalent to non-GMO feed. There was no indication of any unusual trends in the health of animals since 1996 when GMO crops were first harvested. Considering the size of the dataset, it can reasonably be said that the debate over the impact of GE feed on animal health is closed: there is zero extraordinary impact."

NeuroLogica Blog » 19 Years of Feeding Animals GMO Shows No Harm

We now have a large set of data, both experimental and observational, showing that genetically modified feed is safe and nutritionally equivalent to non-GMO feed. There does not appear to be any health risk to the animals, and it is even less likely that there could be any health effect on humans who eat those animals.

In order to maintain the position that GMOs are not adequately tested, or that they are harmful or risky, you have to either highly selectively cherry pick a few outliers of low scientific quality, or you have to simply deny the science.

No you see, I don't actually understand any of this science stuff or anything related to life stock and farming in general, but this study clearly failed to take something into account, something which would've validated my point of view. Therefore you are wrong and GMO is still dangerous.

Ive never heard of a GMO-grass. So if they're feeding these cows anything else but grass, then they already have a funny idea of what constitutes a healthy cow.

Sorry to break it to you, but cows are GMOs. And humans who can drink cow's milk are also GMOs.

I go to a forum where people saw this and just said it was more proof that the government is trying to trick them. They believe all scientist are people who also work for companies who profit by saying it is safe even though it isn't.

Their conspiracies make them feel like they're in control.

This is true but we forgot what controls the market: fear. Gentlemen, make the people fear their own shadows so long as they are really yours or mine. Otherwise, that's just going to cut into the profit margin--can't spend time making our own shadows, making consumers aware and very afraid of these shadows and coerce them into buying our products out of fear and insecurity and have it turn out to be somebody else's shadows or products.
