If we can get away from our solar system, we can avoid catastrophe when the Sun ages too much to continue supporting life on Earth. There's plenty of planets out there that we could terraform with enough technological development, and eventually we might master the creation of Sun-sized star creation.

haha. the end of the universe may not be iminent then, but what good is time when the end will eventually arrive? whether it is the death of our solar system, or the universe, I think it would be wise to create means of time travel. anyway, to reach the planet we need to find a more reliable way to travel that wont take us a lifetime to reach.
