Well, could someone explain how could they exist if they aren't made of something smaller? If they was energy, then they would at the same time be mass, but this dosn't contradicts Einstein's theory? |

With our current technology, we can't tell whether or not quarks are made of something smaller. String (or superstring) theory is the only theory, I know of, that makes an attempt to answer this question. It's been a while since I looked into it, but if I recall correctly, string theory suggests that quarks are made of rings (or strings) of energy, or is otherwise dimensionally unobservable. |
