My mom took me to the grocery store one time when I was ten, after a band concert, so I was all dressed up. I had to use the restroom and had to go in the back and use the employees bathroom. There was a sign on the door that had a little men's symbol and on the same sign a woman's symbol. I didn't know that it meant that the women's bathroom was on the right side. So I just walked in and there was an old man using the urinal. Instead of walking out I ran into the stall and waited, terrified, until my mom came to find me. It was awkward...
What can you tell me about the term "double consciousness" as W.E.B. Du Bois defined it? What does it mean to you?
-
That doesn't really mean anything to me. I would have to look it up.
Have you ever revived a really old thread on a forum before?
-
Nope. I've always checked the date for the threads.
Have you ever been mistaken for someone else?
-
I can't recall many times that's happened - although I've had people claim they know me already, even though I don't remember them - so it's possible they mistook me for someone else. Also, when my hair was at it's longest (all the way down my back, before I got it cut to my shoulders) I once had a really drunk guy use a pick up line on me because he thought I was a girl until I turned around - which was pretty hilarious. I think the beard gave him more than a bit of a shock when I turned around.
What was the last weird synchronicity you remember experiencing? (If you aren't sure what I mean, some examples of synchronicities would be things like thinking about calling a friend, and right that minute they call you, or seeing a particular number everywhere for days, etc..)
-
Back a few weeks ago, I had a dream that the worlds' best angry birds player told me to meditate on the meaning of Vishnu. The next day, in my creative writing class, the profess or and a few students went on a long tangent about hindu gods and goddesses. (I didn't say anything to influence the class.)
I remember a really weird one exactly like you describe too. A few years ago, I vividly dreamed of my friend C, who I had not seen or even thought about in years, and the next day he called.
If you could change one thing about yourself (physical appearance or personality) what would it be?
-
I would be more outgoing, and always know what to say to people. I admire people who always seem to come up with the right thing to say in any situation.
Would you rather re-live your worst memory or lose your best memory?
-
Well it depends what you mean by re-live the memory. If I was in the situation where my worst memory happened again, then I could change the outcome of it. If that's how this works, then heck, let me relive all my bad memories and avoid all of the painful, stupid, and embarrassing things I've done since I was a kid little kid.
If you mean, just think about the memory really clearly again, then my brain does that on a regular basis.

Or if I have to relive it in a dream, then I'd just get lucid since most of my worst memories are dream signs.
Really none of those options seem as bad as losing my best memory.
If you were the supreme ruler of the world, with no chance of being put out of power, and unlimited control over the world, what would you change?
-
I would create a world that is most desirable from an ethical standpoint or create a world that is optimized to create a world that is most desirable from an ethical standpoint. How? Choose a handful of people that are both very intelligent and very altruistic and have them work together on the problem of making the world this beautiful place. They could create a bigger group, together with whom they could come up with better ideas and solid strategies. We would have an increasingly bigger group spanning more and more areas of expertise and capability and then we would slowly start implementing our structural changes to the world. Given unlimited control and no chance of being kicked off the throne, all you need is a decent heart and some low threshold of intelligence (so you can even conceive of the idea to gather people for this cause).
How do you feel about wasting time? Do you feel guilty? Do you think it's of not much consequence so it's fine?
-
Im not so concerned with wasting the time itself. As long as I dont wasting my mind. So it's more that the mind is wasting itself too much by going in time, than what the time itself is doing to me. I only feel guilty if I am in an unhealty relationship with time, but that is rather the product of a wasted mind. The amount of thought that I bring into the consequences depends on how much I believe that the consequences will effect the way I percieve my life. So the consequence of time in my life is fine, as long as my mind flow with time and not against it.
Where do you sense or base yourself as YOU, most of the time?
Random examples: Is it maybe in what you can do? What you have done? Where you are? What others percieve as you? Your body? etc.
-
I think I feel me being ME when I do the activities that I know will lead to that which I mostly desire. Like working out in a gym. It's painful, but I know only by doing it I can be ME. I want(s) to look good. :) I'm both my mind(/spirit) and my body too I think.
What would you give to every person on the planet if you could just snap your fingers for it happen?
-
Boundless love for all that lives!
Did you feel nervous when you first went to college or another type of new school and how did it turn out? If you were not nervous, why not?
-
No, I didn't feel nervous one bit when starting college, and it turned out alright aside from my classes being messed up and now it'll take me two more years of being a part time student to finish. I probably wasn't worried because I had lots of friends a year or two my senior who had started college and told me all about what it was like.
If you could travel in space and time and safely observe any event what would you observe?
