I Fucking Hate Windows

Not the OS.

As artificial light is a thing, why the fuck do I need a window in my bedroom? Do you know how fucking annoying it is trying to get it dark in here in the middle of the day? When I turn the light out, I want the light to fucking go out. Why are windows in bedrooms still a thing? Curtains? Curtains are a goddamn joke. Blinds? Weak as shit, they break after about a month. Shades? Never used 'em, but I seriously doubt they'd cover the entirety of the window.

The only thing that's ever worked is having a bunch of blankets over my window, but that looks fucking retarded. I understand in common areas like living rooms and in bathrooms and shit where nobody wants to have to waste electricity or anything, but at least the windows there aren't such an inconvenience.

I wish I could plaster over my window.

Windows are the shit. What wakes me up in the morning. The light day is freaking essential.

I'll get rid of mine and say you did it, you can do likewise. It'll be easier.

If you really don't like it, just cover it up.

I suspect you don't really live in Antarctica, so why not visit your local hardware store. This isn't even expensive.

Just tell them what you want to do, tell them you want it done cheaply but to look nice, and they'll help you do it.

Yeah, I hate it when I want to take a nap and I can't get it dark in my room, so I just lie there for an hour and then get up, feeling like I wasted my time.

I've only tried it a couple of times.

But it was a lifesaver for people when their windows crash and they are unable to boot from it. With Ubuntu, they are able to access their harddisk files. :)

Yeah, a bootable USB drive is always a good thing to have.

Pro tip: if you can't get proper blackout drapes, get two heavy drapes and a double curtain rod. With a scarf or something thrown over the opening at the top, I find this arrangement more than adequately dark. Most of the time though, natural light is a must. Fuck light bulbs.

Many a WBTB have been ruined by windows. Windows should be put on trial for all of the extra sleep they have robbed me from. Besides, daylight is overrated.

So once upon a time I slept during the daytime. I have this big mean window next to where I lay my head and I figure out real quick-like how irritating that poison some people call sunlight is and try all sorts of slick strats to get a quality sheepland visitation. Quilt over the window? Holy smokes it's like I'm going to bed on a moonless night at midnight, even in the afternoon! Unfortunately this works a little too well and I find myself sleeping for absurd amounts of time, which had never happened before when I relied on the ol' star to kick me in the groin from time to time. Screw that noise! I'm going to cover my head with a pillow while still resting upon a pillow. Therefore it's like my head becomes the meat and the pillows the bread of a freakish sandwich. Not too shabs, man, just a little bit of light gets through and I can still breath.

Insufficient! Just a little darker, if you please. A blanket on top of the pillow on top of my head. OK! It's 95% dark but just a sliver gets in (being able to breathe is of little import, I promise). This I like. I am sad to report this habit began during my daytime snoozing carried forth into the future, such that my room can be black as death and I still ensconce my cranium in an odd assortment of bedtime goods.

a thick quilt works well as a "blackout curtain." So do blackout curtains.

I have a heavy blanket hanging in front of my window most of the time, unless I'm reading by sunlight.
