Should I introduce LDing to my potential girlfriend?

I am sorry if I post this in a wrong section. This question has been on my mind for over a week. I need your advice because I think this is a major decision and I don't know what is right.
Should I introduce LDing to my potential girlfriend? I meet her once a week (3 times so far). She has showed an interest in chatting via email, but not in dating yet. She is very nice, but very shy. I don't know much about her. I know she studies a grammar school, sings in a choir and rides a horse.
So I ask when I should introduce this topic to her if I should ever. It can make her think I am weird, but it also can make her interested in speaking to me I think. Do you have any experience with introducing LDing to a person you are dating with?

Upside: She loves you for introducing her into the amazing art of lucid dreaming and is forever in your debt ;)

Downside: She doesn't believe you and thinks your crazy. Or she tries, fails, and gets so frustrated she associates you with her failed attempts at LDing... I think you know there isn't much of a future with that...

If your relationship progresses a lot and you're really into lucid dreaming then you'll pretty much have to eventually. It's really up to you when you do, using your own judgment of her character, whether she'll find it interesting or think you're weird.

Maybe you can start by showing her a nice movie related to lucid dreaming, that might spark her interest.

And you might not know but some people are capable of LDing without knowing its term. I've been stunned by a few friends when I told them what is LDing and they actually told me they know they are dreaming when they were dreaming. But they didn't put too much thought into it.

Yes, it would be absolutely best if she was already having LDs. Unfortunately this is isn't very probable.
Do you think it is a really good idea to introduce LDing to her via a movie? Like Inception? I don't know any movie that deals with this topic in a gentle way.

I like Inception. But from what people on DV said, Inception is a load of bullshit about lucid dreaming. Still you could try, besides Inception has really nice ratings too. I got mind-blown by Inception after watching it and I kept questioning reality... That's how I got my first lucid. :chuckle:

To make it clear, if we are in a relationship, I won't conceal I am into LDing. My concern is whether I should introduce LDing to her now when we ask each other about our hobbies etc.

Ok... But if you're going to tell her you're into LDing surely you'll briefly explain about it to her? Isn't that the first step in introducing LDing to her? Then from there you can see whether is she interested in it or not. You can't possibly tell your friend "I'm interested in lucid dreaming" without elaborating. They will give you a blank stare and ask you "What is it?"

What about to start with a hypothetical question like this: "What would you do if you knew we were dreaming right now?" She wouldn't probably respond immediately, so I would say something like: "I would love to learn to fly with you!". I think this might be a good introduction when we are close friends already.

I think you should just go straight to the point. She'll probably think you're teasing her by making that statement and she might not take LDing seriously. I've told a couple of friends about my dreaming and lucid dreaming interests, they didn't take me for a joke although none attempted to lucid dream. However, I got them interested in remembering their dreams occasionally. ;)

I've tried telling DCs in my LD they are dreaming. Everyone of them told me "No". I'm expecting the same behaviour from real life people too.

How should the introduction start like?
"Have a you heard of LDing?" - "No." - "It is ..."
or
"One of my interest that I haven't mention is LDing. It is ..."
or
"Do you sometimes remember your dreams?"
or
"Have you ever in your dream discovered you were dreaming at the moment?"

Try the last 2. :)

Then maybe you can continue by telling her your lucid dreaming experiences. I had one funny dream where I got lucid because I was naked. >.<

Only thing I can say is don't force the issue. I think it would be better to let it just come up when it feels right. Maybe better to wait too long than not long enough.

Not sure what the hell I know about it. But still.

Honesty is good in a relationship, but discretion is also good. By that I mean not *all* secrets have to be shared in order to build a good relationship.

I had a relationship with someone and I shared *every* secret with her. There was literally nothing to hide from her. But the relationship was not healthy.

Conclusion:
It is much better than I thought. She asked me if I know what astral projection is. She has already read about LD and she wants to know more about it. Yes!!!:cheeky:
