Shave what? Your face? I assume that's what the OP means since he's male and most males only shave their faces.

Well assuming general shaving with no specific body part in mind, there may be benefits to each:

Before: Shower will wash off any bits of hair or shaving cream still on you.
After: Your body is wet already, making it easier to shave.
During: Shares benefits of both before and after. However, you have to worry about keeping what you're shaving out of the water so it doesn't wash the shaving cream off. Also, if you're shaving your legs or something else that takes a long time, a lot of water is wasted and the water may get cold.

I generally prefer to shave during a shower. But the 'during' detriments I listed are reasons I don't really like shaving my legs. It takes so long, I feel like I'm wasting water which is cold by the end and have to balance with one leg up and stuff. I don't know how the hell I'd shave my legs without a shower though. I've tried it once, just using a sink and it gets messy and takes even longer because the shaving cream on a certain part of my leg will dry out before I get to it, giving me razor burn.

Definitely not before... it's much better to soften your skin up first. Dunno why you'd do it before.

      During or after. Not before.

I personally have long hair so when it comes to shaving off the areas around my side burns, I have to be careful to tuck my hair back and make sure I don't get shaving cream on it, lmao. Taking a shower ensures I don't walk away with shaving cream in my hair.

During or after. I use an electric razor though so it's so brief of an event that it doesn't really matter.

Why are you taking so long to shave your legs?

Before. I want to wash the shaving cream film off my face, and I might as well do it when I am going to wash my face any way. My face is totally fine doing it that way. Also, shaving is a little bit of an inconvenience, but I like showering, and I like to get business out of the way before pleasure. Brushing my teeth is a major pain in the ass, so I do it before I shave. I also don't want to get shaving cream in my mouth when I get water in my mouth to rinse. For me, this is the only way.
How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

You have all got it wrong. Fools
I know the correct answer, as I am the brightest person on DV, or anywhere else.
Get in the shower, and have a good clean off. Washing as you would a normal shower session.
Then turn shower off, and have a shave.
Now get back in, and have another short shower.
No soap residue. No problems of any kind.

Your humble gratitude for my input will be noted.

I think you're a paid shill for the water companies.
