Those of you that have been here for a while know about my trials and tribulations while trying to learn how to WILD. |

well you got to the hypnogogic imagery, that's really close. I think you can do it. er...just try MILD, it's easier. lol...ok ok..I've only done WILD once. yeah and it was unintentional. well just keep at it. I know you can do it soon. and don't fret so much, that only makes it worse. |

I have gotten MILD to work. In fact this morning was the first time in a week I have even attempted WILD. (evil nasty concept!!!!) |

You know, if you just can't do WILD, don't waste energy. I found I sucked at getting it to happen, so I've decided to look at Astral Projection, and I find I do alot better at that instead of WILD's. Maybe it's just not for you, like it was for me (or perhaps the gods decided to pick on you) |
|
that was your FIRST attempt!? well khlg'jl;'hgjlh. |

huh...the only way i can lucid dream is thru WILD...try doing it when you should be sleeping normal like, instead of when people are active around you |

The thing about a Wild Is the situation needs to be PERFECT. I mean good sleep status (so that you can easily see images) righ tmind set (wont think about anything else) right time (like the bus thing.. Its got to be a period here theres no interuptions.. and yes we all get unexpected interuptions) I've only goten it twice so far and only becasue I met all these things. Also you need to have just the right food/drinks (to keep you satisfied awake yet asleep) keep trying and good luck!! |

I'm chilled. Hey, I've failed for three months now, what are a few more times going to hurt. |

I just can't WILD. The only time I ever got Hypnagogic Imagery was completely on accident, and it shook me up so much that I completely woke up. I think my mind and body are too connected. |

Still can't WILD........
Trying to set up a perfectly comfortable, distraction-less situation is counter-productive in my opinion. I find I am more likely to WILD when I'm in slightly adverse conditions with a little bit of distraction to keep at least part of my mind fully awake during the entire process. Turn on the t.v. in another room so you can hear it but can't make anything out. That's what works best for me; that or when a conversation is going on somewhere else. Anything that I can hear but can't hear enough to actually make out and thus focus too hard on. |

wow this is a old thread. why is it in sensless banter anyway? |

An alarm with a snooze button is great for practicing WILD. I have to press snooze for an hour before I can even get out of bed, so it's a good time to practice WILD multiple times. Unfortunately, it usually takes close to an hour for me to be aware enough to even know what the snooze button has to do with reality. I just have this vague sense the pushing it has something to do with stopping the noise that is bugging me. My eyes are always closed, and I am pretty much dreaming while pushing it. By the time I have any concept of what the snooze button really is, I am too awake to go back to sleep before the next alarm. But that situation makes the snooze button great for WILD practice and LD practice in general because it gives me an opportunity to practice sorting out mental chaos. The snooze button has helped me have a pretty good many WILD's, but I'm not having them every day yet. I am trying to get it in my head that the snooze button is a dream sign. The big problem with all of this is that the vast majority of my lucids happen just before I wake up when I sleep in and have gotten almost all of the sleep my body seeks. The only time I am a morning person is when I have been awake all night and it is morning. |

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?
First of all, Universal Mind is right! This thread is from 2004! But since I'm here I might as well reply: Just don't give up. Keep trying. And next time... take you phone off the hook. |
