Let's Play the Riddle Game

The Rules:

1. A riddle is posted. BONUS if the riddle is written by you, and therefore, the answer is not google-able.
2. People guess the answer. The first correct person gets to be the new riddle maker.
3. After 3 incorrect guesses, the riddle maker can give a hint. After 5 incorrect answers, the riddle maker can reveal the correct answer. Anyone can then post a new riddle.
4. If you post a guess, and it's incorrect, you must wait until another person guesses OR a day passes (whichever is first), before guessing again.
5. Don't use a search engine to find the answer.

I hope you enjoy the game! I will start.

Riddle:

A beauty hidden from all the world,
In bubbling water I'm unfurled.
If you find me, care you must take,
For if not, a tooth you'll break!

Hidden from the world and in bubbling water unfurled... Sounds like a pearl?

Biting into it or its sea shell carelessly would certainly be unpleasant, almost like biting on bone I imagine.

Actually, that happened to my sister when eating an oyster. She nearly broke her tooth. Inside her oyster was a black pearl. :)

I'm surprised I did get it right. :P Also, weirdly can't like posts in this thread, I wonder why?

Anyway, my riddle then:

That which is father of a god and never seems to stop.
It is invisible but easily felt by all who are aware.
Some of us think it's fast, others think it's slow.

I wouldn't class myself very good at making (or solving) riddles, so I would say you try anyway Sageous. :P

If nobody else thinks of a riddle by then, I'll probably have a go at it again tomorrow. :)

Edit: Here's another riddle attempt from me then, maybe too cryptic... It sure is hard making them not be too easy or too difficult. :P

That which it is, it can help make,
Horned and instrumental for some crafts,
It's true, it's an instrument, not made for music,
But there it too finds use, despite its bulk.

Wow I didn't know about your riddle until now. :)

Hm this is a tough one. I'm thinking a knife or maybe a saw.

The first line makes me think of a knife. It's sharp and can help make another sharp object. A saw could, I suppose, help make the handle of another saw.

Second line, knives can be horned. I suppose a saw could be? Both are useful for crafts.

Third line, both are instruments, not made for music.

Fourth line definitely leans toward a saw, which can be oddly musical. I've never heard of a musical knife, but, that doesn't mean they don't exist.

First guess: Saw.

Though to be honest I had kind of forgotten how long ago this was! I'm afraid I do not remember the answer to my own riddle anymore. If the correct answer was mentioned, I think it would probably jog my memory, but who knows now. :laughtillhurts:

OK I have one, but this one is a logic puzzle. It's a little different. It's a picture. My dad gave this riddle to us last night (it was my brother's birthday party). We really loved it!! Please don't make fun of my art

OK. So the story goes something like this. There are 4 prisoners. They are lined up and positioned so that prisoner #1 can see both prisoners #2 and #3. Prisoner #2 can only see prisoner #3. Prisoner #3 cannot see anyone. Prisoner #4 cannot see anyone. There is a wall separating prisoner 4 from the rest, and no one can see through that wall. Each prisoner knows that there are exactly 4 prisoners. They know that there are 4 hats. They know that 2 of the hats are black, and 2 of the hats are white. They cannot see which hat is on their head, though, or what color it is. They can only see the prisoners in front of them as described above. They cannot turn their heads around. Although they are all in same room, no talking is permitted (except when calling out the answer).

They have 10 minutes before they are all killed! One of them must get his hat color correct. If he does, they all go free! If anyone guesses wrong, they all die!!

Who gets his hat color correct first, and why? Must have a logical explanation.
