Not all of it. We've had your Monty Python members since the 70's. But we stole The Beatles first. ;)Quote:

My nipples are leaving the atmosphere!
I have a few MORE words for you Brits who are still pissed about what we did to you in 1776... Saturday Night Live, plus, all of the movies that came in its wake, meaning careers of actors, like Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Dan Ayroyd, John Belushi, Steve Martin, Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Mike Myers, and others. We also claim Airplane, Kentucky Fried Movie, the Naked Gun movies, the Police Academy movies, the American Pie movies, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, South Park, Beavis and Butthead, All in the Family, Cheers, Richar Pryor, Bill Hicks, Denis Leary, Brian Regan, Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Conan Obrien, Arsenio Hall, Dave Chapelle, Jon Stewart... (Okay, I'll show mercy and stop here for now.)
8) Your turn...
john cleese can beet all of that using only the simple tool of a deceased parrot, but anyway can we not set asside our diffferences and and blame everything on the french like civilised people.
I admit that Monty Python is better than all of them, but not on the Dead Parrot Sketch alone. It was mostly Holy Grail and Life of Brian that got that for them. South Park is almost as funny. Besides, aren't those Monty Python guys with us now? I know I've at least seen Cleese in a bunch of American commercials, and Cleese and Idle did an encoure of the Dead Parrot Sketch on Saturday Night LIve a few years back. All of them, except Gilliam (American by birth) and Chapman (deceased) appear on our late night comedy shows all the time. But hey, the USA was started by British settlers, so we're a British country as far as I'm concerned. I have almost entirely Scotch-Irish blood running through my veins, so we might be fifth cousins or something. But I won't pick on France until after I give them a chance to admit that terrorism is a serious fucking problem on this planet.Quote:

(Double post deleted except for this... I couldn't find the "delete" option.)

I have never been able to watch a Monty Python movie or their Flying Circus television show without laughing so hard I started crying. I think my lungs and my abs are much stronger now than they would have been without Monty Python.
I've never heard one single person say that Monty Python is "okay" or "kind of funny". It seems like everybody who has seen them says they are either the funniest thing there has ever been or annoyingly stupid. There is no in between.
Monty Python - The Marmite of comedy
if you haven't seen it already, get Life of Brian
John Cleese said that he is baffled by the fact that Americans like Holy Grail the most of all their movies while the British like Life of Brian the most. I think they are the two funniest movies ever, but I would probably say Holy Grail is a little funnier.Quote:
