Dont worry. it's self evident. I'm not trying to cause any problems. Im just very confused...I assume I'm mising something. It seems very unlike DV like to cencor something.

Every post in senseless banter increases the amount of data in the database and eats some bandwidth with the following results:

Read time for non-sensless topics take a little bit longer longer to retrieve.
We use up costly storage space on the server
We use up costly (and limited) bandwidth

We also allow Google and the other search engine bots to crawl senseless banter.
I don't know whether to be happy or ashamed of this:

I am all for having fun in senseless banter, but.... Lucid Dreaming is the main focus of Dream Views.

Senseless banter is there for you guys to unwind and have a little fun. When the response from 95% of the people reading a Senseless post is WTF, then I think the thread is probably too senseless and needs to die :D

Yeah, it does.

I was just trying to explain that some topics are just too senseless to enter here (and I warned them that the topic was forbidden, and was quite offensive), and provided a link rather than a pic (like you do with porn) telling them the topic was highly offensive.

So, Seeker, could you maybe lock this topic?

And Icedawg did something last summer. He actually cleaned up the senseless banter, locking previous topics, and erasing them to a single thread. Maybe you, or another moderator could clean up a little.

I agree. There is no need at all to hold on to senseless. Thats why it should all be deleted after it dies. Theres no need to save this. If someone wants to archive it on their computer they can do that anytime. But It doesn't seem necesary to restrict topics in Senseles Banter... because Its senseless! If you no one likes the idea of erasing senseless when it gets old then maybe their shouldn't even be a senseless banter. Or the name should be changed.

EDIT:and Seeker...I did think about it. Did you read the posts where we discussed it? Ive seen other forums with senseless banter(or similar) where each thread expires after a month of no posts...or just after a month.
