yes.
oh wait, did you want an honest answer?
yes it could happen... but no, i wouldn't expect it to. :?
only if you got a ton of ambition and drive...I personally dont have nearly enough drive at all to become #1 best at anything ever period, and that seriously bugs me sometimes...really it a matter of how hard you're willing to work to become that...theres also alot of right place right time involved (aka luck), so yas takes yer chances
Yes
Yes, if you believe you can and you try hard enough, you can be anything you want. :D
Personally, I strive to be a famous model/actor. :) So none of you be surprised if one day I show you guys a picture of myself and you find yourself saying "Hey, Lomebririon is really that famous model/actor that everyone is talking about. I love him so much, he's so hot."
I don't know, I barely know you. I suppose the "ingredients" you need to become an actor, superstar or something else like that, are:
Having talent.
Working towards your goal.
A peice of luck that starts your career.
A dumb tragic lifestyle that always gets documented on MTV. (Not required, but helps).
Of course, I just laugh at everybody who wants to be an famous actor or a singer. Because they won't be. The chances are so slim. (Well, even if they did be, I'd find something else to laugh at them for instead). :P
Yes, the same. I can be descent at a lot of things, but never really perfect or best. My resources are being spread thin. I cannot continue [learning] [gaining this knowledge] of all that I want to.. I cannot focus on one thing.Quote:

I myself continue my recent mentality of knowing that I'm gonna become a millionaire. EZ. But is it worth all the stress and work of [learning] and [gaining this knowledge]? Meh.. If I want my island, it will! ... ..
I suppose I'll go with the rather generic response of "Yes, it's possible. But unlikely." However, if you really want to, you just have to keep trying, and telling yourself that you can. Be serious about it. Don't half-ass. Be careful not to indulge too quickly.
You'll need ambition, talent, and luck. Luck is the key. Catching an agent's eye, getting on tv. Anything to get your name out there. Good luck, and remember me when you get your first million, eh?
theroguechemist, im a total perfectionist by nature, and if ever im doing something like say a videogame or drawing or anything at all that i even semi care about, and somebody else comes along whos better than me, or in the case of the videogame, beats me (even if by luck), i get totally depressed about that subject, and often find it difficult to continue to improve my skills in that area...i cant even get myself to play alot of videogames that i find fun anymore, cause im scared of beaing beaten...pathetic, i know T.T
..on a side note, why is this in senseless banter? this is a serious question he posted...
Yes, I believe you can if you try hard enough, and there is no harm in trying.
I would have to know someone personally to make that asessment. Also in that line of work I think a person needs to have connections. But if you are steadfast enough in your persuit, who is to say? :D
All I can say about the matter is:

That's not a very progressive attitude. :?
Where I live it's pretty easy to become a model. ;)
Well, it tis possible...But, only if you have talent and connections.Enough said.
You don't need talent or connections, there are a lot of ads in the newspaper(at least where I live) for amateur models and stuff like that.
I would hate being a model for a living
The ultimate narcissistic job....
Is it wrong to love oneself? ;)
Sounds like an alright job to me.
Love yourself and have others love and admire your looks for a living... :P
It is not just narcissists that become models you know. You can become a famous model/actor/singer, be beautiful/handsome and not be self absorbed.
Having that stereotypical view of people makes you sound petty and shallow. :|
And besides, what other kind of job is there where they pay you to stand there and look pretty? :)
Nah, the things is I, beside my hatred for the whole capitalist system and the way it works, if I ever have to work I would try to chose a job that requires my mind, my true essence and thought and not my decaying organic matter...
I would also hate to be a model because I hate the whole culture that I would be repressenting: I look pretty, now you buy expensive useless shit, with the money that you earned while rotting your life away in an office(or such)...
God, I just hate this consumerist culture....
Well this is what I have to say. Being a famous musician/model/actor is possible but just look at the odds. Their are way more normal (non-famous) people than there are famous. I say go after the dream but go after it in the right mind set. Tell yourself you will be happy wherever you end up. If it was not the original goal so be it. Make sure you have a backup plan... you know just in case. Keep an open mind! Well there ya go
p.s. Life is full of shit and you are bound to step in some!
Well put.Quote:

I understand the point you're trying to make and yes, consumerism does suck, but I believe that this topic has been thought too much into. dingleberry12286 just wanted to know if he could become an actor or musician and it's spiralled into a mini-debate.

Well the question I have for ya is, do you posses any talent at all? You just can't go out into the world and say you want to act or play a particular instrument. It takes time to condition yourself. And if you're willing to do that then the skys the limit for you. Anythings possible.
if it would mean having women throw themselves at me, being idolized by thousands or millions, and having enough money to quit the business and buy me my island, then sure.. even for a mortal life, it sounds like a pretty good way to spend your days. :)Quote:

I guess you should ask yourself are you the one who'll be buying the stuff with the money you earned "while rotting your life away in an office(or such)" Something I imagine would require ones mind.Quote:

Just because you look good doesn't automatically mean you're a sellout.
No, I wouldn't be the one buying the products but the people out there will. It just goes against my beliefs, I couldn't contribute to the cause like that and live with myself. I refuse to be the means to an undesired end...
