The original topic wasn't "What do you think of MySpace", nor "The Insult Others' Interests" thread.
On the bright side, these posts will keep the topic closer to the top of the forum section for whoever is interested and perhaps whoever else has similar interests will post the same type of information here.

Yeah&#33; Totally&#33; Man, I wish I was as popular as you lot, getting "hit chix0rz" saying I&#39;m so <strike>hot</strike> hawtttt over the internet, which means nothing at all and doesn&#39;t get you anywhere. Actually, I think what you&#39;re saying there is a bit paradoxical. Isn&#39;t the whole point of Myspace meeting people over the net? I&#39;d much rather meet my friends in real life.

Yeah you need to get rid of your MySpace Account.

I don&#39;t understand why people have such a thing against myspace, really. I see nothing wrong with it. I use it all the time to keep in touch with friends.
I do get what you&#39;re saying about meeting people over the Internet though. I wouldn&#39;t use it for that.

WTF is with the friend request? Trying to increase your "friend count" so you look popular when really it&#39;s just an arbitrary and meaningless number representing hundreds of people you&#39;ve never met and likely wouldn&#39;t get along with anyways? I never did get that.

I think that a lot of people use things like Myspace more for keeping in touch with existing friends rather than making new ones. I agree that the friend count on Myspace is pathetic. Everyone knows they&#39;re not really your friends. I use Bebo, where a similar thing is going on with number of views. It&#39;s pretty irritating.

Still, I think that some people here are slightly overreacting *ahem* Tsen... Kaniaz *ahem*

I really don&#39;t like the idea of meeting people over the internet... it just seems... pointless

I think you&#39;re mixing something up here:
First off, I don&#39;t spend half my time here. I DO spend a considerable amount, but an hour a day is pretty much it. I log on for five minutes or so every few hours between classes.
More importantly, I don&#39;t come here to hang out with people. I come here to learn more about LDing, explain it to people new to the concept, maintain an archive of my more memorable dreams and occasionally to debate those with differing views. I DO enjoy the community here, and I have met and hung out with a few of them in real life. The difference is, socializing isn&#39;t the driving goal.
Oh, and DV&#39;s layout doesn&#39;t make me want to burn my eyes out. That&#39;s a plus.

So, still trying to build up your all-important friend count?

Chill out...I also come here to learn about dreaming, but in "The Lounge" I&#39;m not interested in talking about dreaming...

I couldn&#39;t care less about my friend count- I have way less than 100, and most of them are bands. I just thought it might be fun to get to know people from here better, that&#39;s all.

Although I have 100+ friend of a friend type things. Who all love me.

And I have met many interesting people on MySpace. (Interesting, but not smart).
