      The scarecrow in The Wizard Of Oz with Judy Garland attempts to explain the Pythagorean theorum when he gets his "brain" from the Wizard. However, he says: "The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side. Oh, joy, rapture! I've got a brain!"

      In reality, his "new brain" fails him. The true theorum explains that the sum of the *squares* of each of the two shorter sides of a *right* triangle will equal the *square* of a hypotenuse triangle. It doesn't work with an isoceles triangle unless 2 sides of the isoceles (side 'a' and side 'b&#39 are equal *and* the angle between the two is 90 degrees.
