Hot Fuzz freakin' rocks my socks. Dayum... I just rented it tonight, as I'd heard it was good, and been wanting to see it for ages, and wow. Simon Pegg is awesome.
Also, got my touchpad working right again; it wasn't scrolling. Plus, via my touchpad's middle scroll-button, I can now adjust my laptop's volume without having to use the Function key and the left and right arrow keys. I love Synaptics.
Elevator music is going through my head. And if I shake it hard enough, I can hear all the candy inside rattle around.
WTF is all this now?? Maybe I`ll just stop taking showers...

Anyway an hour left of my first day on my new job - and its awesome! The people are awesome as is the job, only thing is they are taking it easy with me, and I just want to get stuck into some projects :D :D :D

Today was not wasted after all. I managed to devise a beautifully elegant tester for digital transistors. Testing many other types is fairly straightforward but, the digital ones (basically a bi-polar XSTR with two or more internal resistors to remove its linear functionality) ones are a huge challenge to be sure of without just replacing the part. Sometimes it's difficult to even know if it is a digital transistor or just a standard bi-polar with an open base.
This new method of mine can immediately identify type (digital/non-digital), identify polarity (NPN/PNP), identify bad junctions, identify high capacitance at the E-C junction, positively and quickly identify the pinout, determine the values of the internal bias resistors, and analyse performance and functionality.
This probably doesn't mean anything to any of you but, trust me, this is a big deal. Plus it's far superior to any other method I've seen in my research through the years. This actually yields reliable results and takes all of the guesswork out of the process.

I'm pissed. I should be embarrassed, too, but oddly I'm not. I got played. I should have known better, and in fact did, but the guy has serious psychological issues. But as the saying goes, life passes on. I'm really tired; I should be in bed right now. That is seven hours of my life down the drain, but in one sense I will treasure it forever, for what it taught me.
It's funny; despite being generally quite pissed, I also have no hard feelings. I probably will once I wake up again, though. When I get some sleep, somebody on here is getting their just desserts. Though thanks to a certain friend (or two) that may already be taken care of. Thanks to them, you know who you are. :hug:
And now, since I wound up being too tightly wound to go to sleep earlier, and instead actually, against my better judgment (hell, in spite of it) went out, still just as slaphappy as I was in chat (seriously. On the way to the restaurant I was doing a great John Travolta impression, talking really strange stuff, and generally acting weird. Then I got in a real badass mood. I managed to subdue it with music, but it wasn't easy. I went in a hardware store and found myself eying the hammers quite disturbingly, and got some strange looks and 'helpful' offers of assistance from the store employees, which I returned with, "No thanks, I'm just looking," or, "Oh, thanks!" in that oddly giddy tone that really freaks people out. It was actually kind of awesome. I felt like Steven Seagal: I could have beat the hell out of anybody, just so long as I didn't have to chase them.), and then took a 2.5 hour nap in which I slept maybe 1.5 hours before Chuck & Heroes, I'm going to go. To get some sleep. I'm still just a tad slaphappy.
