Too late. Wasn`t that bad for me though, plus it was necessary...
Yeah, I have to though...
3 of them are coming up at wrong angles, so they're pushing on my molars, and I have constant toothaches.
It sucks.
Free painkillers though!
my sister has to get that done in like a week shes shitting it. she has to go under general anasthetic while they break each wisdom tooth in bits and then cut open the gums to take it out. how painful does that sound
I have all four of my wisdom teeth with no clear adverse effect to me as of yet.
Some wisdom teeth grow in mushy and brown.
I never got any, and somehow the docs determined that I never would. :? I wonder how they know that.
It's actually not painful because you're under anasthiestia(Can't spell), but after you do it it sucks. You feel like shit, and all your food tastes tasteless. By the time food has flavor again and the painkiller has worn off, you can't eat because it hurts like hell to swallow.:(
It says alot about your wisdom, that's for sure. Just kidding.
I found out I have to get mine removed. I read this lovely little pamphlet with happy, white, white-toothed cartoon characters that decribed how potentially unpleasant the whole experience can be. I can't wait! Getting them out on Feb 28
Mes and Gestalt, I envy you. :boggle:
I had all 4 of mine removed at the same time when I was a teenager. but, I also still had a baby tooth, because I had two adult teeth trying to grow in, and they got wedged together and stuck. so they removed 4 wisdom teeth, and then cut into my gums and took the extra tooth out too. the other one never grew in though, so i'm permanetly missing a tooth. heh.
They put me under with laughing gas. which was...awesome. I woke up a few hours later in a different room bleeding from the mouth.
For a baby tooth :eh:? I had 5 teeth (1 baby, 4 adult) removed while fully awake, they really do make a crunching sound...
At least they knocked me out for the wisdom teeth, it was some kind of valium based intravenous sedative, last thing I remember before passing out was having some heavy chemistry discussions with the doctor about the neurologic causes of my hallucinations :P.
Hehe. :D I remember him asking me some question to which I lied in my reply. He asked the same question again later, to which I said I didn't remember. Then right before I passed out, he asked the same question again and I finally told the truth. (It was something dumb like, "How do you like your teachers" or something.)
Yeah it was for a baby tooth because they also had to make a little slit in my gum to allow an adult tooth easier passage.
I have a consultation for the extraction procedure tomorrow. Only problem is all of this is out-of-pocket expenses.
Luckily, my sister didn't have a problem with them and was back to normal in 3 days, and my dentist says mine should come out easily. Good roots or something :D But I'm going under. There is no way on earth I'm going to listen to whatever they plan on doing. I get annoyed (now) with the sound of crunching a popsicle!
To all people undergoing wisom teeth extraction; stalk up on energy drinks, gauze pads, tic tacs and toothpicks (you'll understand...).
I second the advice for toothpicks. food getting stuck in the "pockets" left from the missing wisdom teeth was so annoying.
gah i hated the wisdom teeth thing! and i hated that salt water more. they hurt like hell afterward. and the lorotab made me sick up bleh. I started talking to my mom about LDing or somthing while i was still under  she didnt know what i was talking about. I try not to bring that up anymore
I have no wisdom teeth in my lower jaw at all! :D No roots, nothing! But I've pulled one in my upper jaw, and the other will have to go when it comes out. Wasn't that bad, though.
Haha screw that I'm never getting them removed. Well maybe once they hurt like a bitch then I'll tell someone.
it aint that bad. it's more of an annoyance than a painful experiance.
