Talk, It's only talk!
Oh no laddy!
Arguments, agreements, advice, answers, articulate announcements!
Damn if I was a moderator I would clean up Senseless Banter so fast...I hate pointless topics like these. Polluting the muddy water that is SB.*
*Not that I'm criticising you guys, you do a bang-up job.
You don't mind if I use his head as an avatar do you? (If it's fine by you I might try the whole picture first and if it's not great I'll try photoshopping the head out.)
Babble, burble, banter, bicker bicker bicker, brouhaha, boulderdash, ballyhoo!
believe it or not elephant talk is a song!
Observe:
Finally! It's a GREAT song!
Observe what? Oh... if the songs playing for some reason my internets won't play audio but luckily iTunes will. :D
Comments, cliches, commentary, controversy, chatter, chit-chat, chit-chat, chit-chat,conversation, contradiction, criticism!
Cheap Talk!
One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands!
By the way, I play the chapman stick!
I'm jealous!
I'm saving up for a new Gretsch Hollow-Body guitar, but after that I'm going to buy a chapman stick!
Are the very difficult to get into? I'll learn it either way. :D
Edit: Oh yeah:
Debates, discussions, These are words with a d this time, dialogue, dualogue, diatribe, dissention, declamation
Double talk, double talk!
Double Edit: Oh, I now see the youtube video Ramna. :D Look at Adrian!
It's a very different animal than a guitar. Playing it is actually more like playing a piano in my opinion. It's very frustrating for a little bit, then suddenly it gets REALLY fun! :)
You can see some pictures of me and some of my studio toys at www.allhands.com
By the way, I just got back from NAMM, and saw all the new goodies coming out this year from tons of music manufacturers. Some of the craziest looking guitars on the planet as well.
Sweet! I'm so excited! :D
I can play the piano slightly, but not very well. I plan on getting better at that also. :P But hey, I'm only 16! I got lots of time. :D
I'm very very excited now thinking about chapman stick!
Do you recommend I start with an 8, 10, or 12 string? (You know, now that you've exposed yourself I'm going to be coming to you for much advice and tips in the future! ;))
Talk, talk, its all talk
Too much talk
Small talk
Talk that trash
Expressions, editorials, expugnations, exclamations, enfadulations
Its all talk
Elephant talk, elephant talk, elephant talk
yeah stephen i had to fix the code
The 8-string is a bass stick (or the NS/Stick which I don't really know anything about). I play the 10-string. I might have bought a 12-string, but as you probably know, these things are pretty expensive! I think a 12-string would actually be slightly easier for me, because you have more choices, but really it's almost a toss-up, I think.
By the way, if you buy one new, be prepared for a long wait. I got my stick 15 months after I placed the order! I hear they are doing it a little faster now, but it's a very long wait once you start getting psyched for it. It takes a long time because every one is built by hand to order with your specifications. Mine is a Padauk 10-string, medium weight strings, in matched-reciprocal tuning. You can sometimes find them used as well. They won't be a whole lot cheaper, but you can get it faster at least.

This version is a bit better. Feel free to use, but put a little dedicated line in your signature or something :)
So... beautiful... makes me cry...... it's a happy cry though.
Thanks haha. That's a great picture. :D
Usually if you want a new tuning it is best to have Stick Enterprises give the instrument a few adjustments, but it's not absolutely necessary unless you are going to or from the heavy strings.
The wood makes almost no difference in the sound of the instrument (much unlike a guitar). The reason is that the vibration of the strings is very slight, and thus does not push the body of the instrument itself to vibrate. The type of pickup does of course make a huge difference.
Of course when you're laying down that kind of money, you want to have something that you find pleasing to look at! There's also something very fun about picking out every part for yourself. If I could order another, I would go for that yellow bamboo model. I love the look of it!
Let me know if you're ever in the DC/Northern VA area. I'd be happy to let you try out mine. As long as you wash your hands first! :D
Oooh, I just went and looked at the bamboo ones. I don't know, all of them look so beautiful! Except the graphite. I like natural much more, but I'd definitely still take a one. :D
So do you recommend that I get the best pickup for it? Might as well, just a couple hundred more when you're already spending 2500. :P
I got diverted I guess. I was planning on learning the Sitar soon, but after reading on Chapman so much I've changed my mind. It's better though because it would do a lot more for my music than a Sitar would.
Ahhh, I need a better source of income. :P I want to get a new Gretsch hollow body, a lap steel guitar (gonna start learning it before Chapman ), then I'll start workin torwards the Chapman. Uhh... lets give that around... $6000! How does a 16 year old make this money?
I'm gonna go make a thread in the Ask Me/Tell Me forum. :D
Mr. Elephant dance!
where is spart with his elephant picture?
I added a hug smiley to my avatar because Clairity thought it was scary. :D
Isn't the mouth from that elephant from the LOLWHUT pear?
Ha, at first I thought the 'hug' emoticon was some strange growth, until I recognized it as an emoticon!
... Oh, and I was hoping this topic would discuss elephants' ultrasonic communications. :<
