WAAAAAAAAAAAA.. I wish I could have stayed home from work!! :(
Why is school closed if no snow fell?
Its pretty icy out and most of the schools around here closed, the street just looks wet here now but the sidewalks are still covered in ice and there have been lots of ambulance calls for old people falling. This is the kind of day where my grandparents see that its bad out so they decide they need to go to the store for whatever reason lol.
I'm not complaining that we're off school because it gives me a needed day of rest but I hope this doesn't take a day off of our spring break vacation.
You lucky bastard, you... >.>
Ice days are fun.
I have had a couple fog days this year. It's funny because it's only foggy in the morning when school starts at around 8 and by 9 everything is clear as crystal.
I've never had my school closed by snow or ice. We didn't have any snow this winter.
England might just be starting to fail a little. :(
The best are when we have a delay because it's too cold, lol its pennsylvania we're used to the cold but hey I'll take it because then we can't do much in classes and tests get postponed but the day still counts. They usually only happen like once or twice a year when the windchill is -10 or -20F
All the schools in my area were closed today too, and it was the warmest day in over a month! Apparently the back roads were icy, but I'm not buying it. This is Michigan for god sake! Ice and snow are a way of life!
How strange. All the schools here (Madison, Wisconsin) were closed as well. There's supposed to be a drop of about 75 degrees by morning though (when considering wind chill). :disconcerted:
What the hell? Don't you people have salters?
They salt pretty excessively sometimes, but doesn't it only work at certain temperatures?
That salt makes the roads nasty. I say let it snow! I could go boarding down the highways!
Semester break for us, but hey, I didn't have to write my history exam today.
Still, over a foot of snow...
:banana:Woohoo, we have a snow day today too (with actual snow this time). I really needed today off because I didn't do everything that was due for today. The only thing that sucks is that instead of having a 2 day week right before spring break starts, it's a 4 day week now. Oh well, party in the snow i guess.
Big snowstorm here right now, but that only strengthens the resolve of the bureaucrats to keep the school open...
No school today. And my school board adds days to the year for every missed day as well.
Freakin pigs. :pissed:
Yep, i assume we need a certain number of days each year so we have to make them up. I think the exception is if it is announced that we're in a state of emergency.
Edit: And also right now there is over an inch of a sloppy mess of snow that has been drenched with freezing rain. If that freezes it could get bad here.
