Thread: When did you find out about the birds and the bees?

I knew about it in the 1st grade, but I didn't fully comprehend it all until the 4th.

Around the same age as you. Let me tell you though that I was still pretty clueless on a lot up until age 14.

Ahh 4th-5th gradish. As Kushna said, I knew about it for a long time, but didn't fully understand it until those grades.

Lol speaking of youth...my little cousin was around 8 a few years ago...she and I were playing a wrestling game (I was gentle ) and she fell on me...in that particular area...quickly noticed something was weird...she patted "that area" again before I could do anything...sat up and asked me "What's that?" I told her it was a pen. I think she forgot about that though...I wish I did.

I was freaking out...a pen was the only thing I could think of...but now that I look back on it...I could have thought of something alot better than pen. But she was 8 and bought it. And no "the flagpole did not raise".

I've never had the talk my parents and I'm 15, but I did watch a video about hormones or something in 5th grade.

I got the main idea when I was around 7-ish. By the time my parents talked to me about it when I was 12-13, I knew 90% of what I needed to know.

Looking back, I find that the funniest part is when young boys suddenly switch mentalities from "ewww girls" to "mmm girls...". Those first years were so corny .

I didn't know most of it until around late seventh grade...for the longest time I always thought girls really didn't have anything there, like I'd been told at some point. When I was working on piecing things together for myself, I just figured girls had a butt, that's where babies came from, how they got pregnant, etc.

Yes, yes I did. I thought everything associated with babies was done via my boy parts and her butt.

Which reminds me, I thought babies came out of the stomach until like 6th grade.

I don't remember being told. I just kind found out about it. I think by 9 i fully understood it.

You know, I forgot, my parents introduced it to me at a really early age though, which I thought was for the better. They never lied to me about it or anything.

I figured it out by myself in like 2nd or 3rd grade. Soon after my dad sat me down and gave me the talk, but I was already several steps ahead of what he was going to tell me.

I saw this funny cartoon about it in 4th grade. They didn't mention orgasms though, so the entire point of having sex and using prevention seemed kinda useless to me.

Beats me. I guess somewhere around ten, or so. I too never had the 'talk' with my parents, they just handed me the book "Missing Dimension In Sex" and told me to go read it when I was about twelve. I already knew some at that point, but let me tell you, things became a lot clearer.

I never had the talk with my parents either. I actually found out through reading books about the Human Body, when I was probably 7 or 8.
