      Best School Week Ever!

This week was only supposed to be a 4-day week because we are off friday. Monday we had a 2-hour delay because it was cold out (it's supposed to be cold, this is Pennsylvania), yesterday we had a 2-hour early dismissal from a snow storm and today we are closed because of the snow and now a freezing rain. And we are off friday and monday so we have 1 day of school tomorrow (maybe) and then a 4 day weekend.

Anyone else getting this much luck?

      High school I suppose ?

I don`t think they would even evacuate this place if there was a fire.

When that happens most of the school usually just skips lol

The good thing about this is that the past 2 days count as days even though we didn't really do that much in classes since they were shortened quite a bit.

Last year we had a bomb scare and the note was left the day before the supposed time, so we just had a 10 minute fire drill during the time the supposed bomb would go off and when nothing happened they sent us back to class.

So "best school week" roughly translates to "least school week"?

I'd say a best school week would be one with brilliant and interesting events, educating and stimulating lessons, and an awesome social scene. Not the lack of school.

If, in saying that the best of something is contained within the lack of it.. uh.. well then there is no point for it's existence.. yet school obviously has a point; so somewhere there is faulty reasoning.

      Its completely different here.

If it floods - "wear a coat"
If it snows lots - "wrap up warm"
If its windy - "watch out for the falling trees"
      If its hot - "burn"

All my night classes on Monday were called off because of the snow. I finished at 4:30 instead of 8:00pm =P

This may be true for some... but I know that in high school I was forced to be there five days a week. Hell, I've been forced since I was a tyke. If I was honestly interested in something academically I would pursue it. Otherwise I could have cared less about spending 8 hours a day in a building. Hence, a week with little school was a time of great joy.

I enjoy college a lot better. Totally different dynamic.

It has a point; education, but school isn't generally fun.

Thus, a lack of school, with the absolute minimum is the "best school week".

I'd rather hang out with friends outside of school anyway.

I can handle being stuck at home a few days. But anymore than that and I will explode and start talking with my cats. (Not in that order).

      Not healthy...

Getting out often has its benefits.

The thing that annoys me about school is stupid people. The stuff it takes 7 hours to do at school I could do on my own at home in 2 and learn it better. Teachers often teach so that the slowest person gets it so I'm basically sitting there bored with nothing to do a lot. Do we really need to sit there and copy notes? Can't a teacher put them on their website and say to print them out and read them and then ask questions on what you don't understand the next day and we'll move on to the next topic?

I like to learn but not the way the school teaches. Most of the time the administration doesn't care if we learn anyway, just if we do well on standardized testing so the school gets money. A lot of teachers do care but they are under pressure to teach to what is on the testing.

So basically yes, time out of that stressful, inefficient place is a good week in my book.
