Let fly your darker side. This might have some gory imagery in it so if you don't want to read it, THIS IS YOUR WARNING. Basically, people are scales; one side goes up, the other goes down. This is the place to get out all the dark things that you think about so that you can better yourself. It's also just a place to be dark if you're feeling down, and anything else relating to being dark. Everyone needs a place to get out their anger/darkness, and this is the place to do it. I'm going to start by illustrating a nightmare which I created while I was awake. What I think is unique about it is that it works entirely scientifically with my twisted logic, and so in that there are no real magicky things involved. I will begin. So, there is an individual with an extra chemical in their body. Let us call this chemical Sitonin (just a name I thought up). From the sun is beaming neutrinos, which basically get absolutely everywhere, and these neutrinos limit the production of Sitonin. However, at night, when the sun no longer shines; the production of Sitonin is uncontrolled and interesting/dark effects occur within the individual. In this particular individual, the Sitonin increases slowly at first, and then bursts forward. The slow increase creates a mental breakdown of the individual, making them keep talking about "The Greater Good" and "It's Not My Fault". The Sitonin also fills them with a need to be in a small confined space (for some reason a washroom stall is most preferable). This goes on until they find a small space, whereas the body senses it's surroundings and the Sitonin goes in to action. The muscles of the individual separate themselves into individual strands and push through the skin outwards. This propels the individual up into the air, hanging there as a rag doll. The muscles then attach to any surface available; this is probably the reason they were looking for a smaller space to be in. Blood is not seeping from the open punctures, and dripping down the muscle strands. This blood carries in it the Sitonin found in the individual. What you now have is an individual held up in the air by his own strands of muscle. However, the Sitonin does more than that. If any person comes withing a certain reach of the individual, then the muscles make a great dash for that person. The muscles then attach themselves to that person and kill them (ripping their jaw off, going up their nose into their brain, just choking them, etc.) After the person has died, the Sitonin carried in the blood drips into the person, allowing the individual to use that person's muscles as a further extension of their own. This chain carries on, allowing the individual to reach further and further. However, this is not in coalition with the will of the individual. The individual, while suspended in air, continues to whisper things; and can only watch as the Sitonin does it's work. The individual at this time appears to be in quite an amount of pain and whispers things along these phrases: "It's not my fault" "I'm so sorry" "Run away" "It's for the greater good" "We'll be fine" As the sun rises, and the neutrinos start to go again, the muscles retract and rebuild themselves within the individual. This gives us the result of an individual, most likely in emotional shock, surrounded by the dead bodies of it's victims. The cycle then repeats itself the following night unless the individual or others find ways of stopping it. The End. I look forward to hearing your darker side.

I agree that the elephant thing is very intense and cool. Sometimes, it is definitely necessary. This was one of those times.

Sorry to be a buzz killer, but I like the science fiction idea in the initial post. I got into that stuff. The sitonin could take over the world by talking over all of the human bodies in the world. If it were 1970, I am sure that could easily find its way into a horror movie somewhere made by somebody. "Sitonin" sounds like a cross between "serotonin" and "sit on it" (as in "Sit on it, Richie" from Happy Days.).

If it were 1970, I am sure that could easily find its way into a horror movie somewhere made by somebody. Thanks for the appreciation; but just to let you know, Sitonin has different effects on different people. For most people it just kills them as its production becomes limited, but for others you get the monster effects. There are plenty more monsters, just need to think of which one next. And I thought of Sitonin because I kept thinking of Serotonin and then I thought...what affects these people? Eventually, I came to the conclusion of the sun; switch the u to an i and you've got Sitonin!
