Tattoos? (Contains pictures that might not be suitable for kids!)

When I'm 18 I plan on getting a tattoo on my back. My sister has one of a fairy. I plan on getting one of Lucy. But I'm having issues deciding on which one to get.

Which one do you like more?

I don't really like tattoos to be honest and I actually think you might regret having "Lucy" as a tattoo in the future.

I like the last one the best, but I agree with the others. When getting a tattoo, you want to get something that's "timeless" - meaning not just one of your recent interests, something that's not just a fad. So many people get these types of tattoos then end up regretting it later. I definitely don't think this would be a "timeless" tattoo.

I know that sounds like a long time to you, but think of if you'll like it 40 years from now. Or even 5 or 10 years. Chances are very low that you will.

Then you'll regret that even more. I can guarantee that within the next couple years that you'll think that Elfen Lied is stupid as shit. When you're 60, you definitely will think it was ridiculous unless you're insane.

Why would you get a permanent branding of something that is so temporary?

When I want to get something really bad, like a piercing, I usually wait a year and see if i still want it. And yes, my mind has changed about things.

As for tattoos, just not my style.

my science teacher said that he found a cool picture and wanted to get a tattoo of it, so he waited 3 months but didn't get it.

Agree with the rest of everyone. For one, considering your current age, I doubt you will even like it by the time you're 18. And when you're older, it's just not worth it to have. As Burns said, this is not a "timeless" thing at all. If you want to permanently brand your body for something that you find kind of cool right now, go for it. But if you have any foresight you will realize it's not worth it at all.
