Take a trip to the R/S Harbour.
It's just west of the Art peninsula and south of the Noob mountains.
Follow this woman down an underground flight of stairs, there you will meet a boatman. Give him a coin and he will ferry you to where you need to be.
Seismosaur accepts the quest.
Into the harbour he goes, dancing around crazy fundamentalists and creepy Atheistic and Deistic Zealots through the morning Bazaar of information and metal masturbation.
After several minutes of walking he comes to the entrance to the dungeon where a Lvl. 68 Baptist Christian; Zealot; No-Evolutionist stood. Waiting.
In a swift moment the battle went.
"God because banana!", the Zealot shouted, but Seismosaur was toting his refrences, level 54, which reduced the attack to a mere -13.
When he hit the ground Seismosaur plunged his hidden weapon, The Flying Spaghetti Monster Trump Daggar, lvl 87, into the Zealot's chest with a +9000 spec. Attack.
He waited as the Zealot evaporated before continuing down into the dungeon...
Will he finish the quest?
What is the point?
Who was the Zealot, and why is no description or prologue given?!
Find out next time, on, RELIGION: The RPG.
Bush is awesome because he knows that atheists suck.
I agree. Pwned.
My provocation plan is working. :D
Atheism is not a religion for us. We argue against religion when it gets crammed down our throats, but it is a reaction, not an initiation. Some of us like to debate religion on the internet because debating is fun and religion runs the world, but most atheists don't like to argue about it. It is fine with most of us if religious people bring up their religions, but when they start trying to turn creationism into a public school teaching and put their religious documents on government buildings, there is a problem.
You've all got it wrong.
"I pledge alleigance, to the flags, of the united states of America, unto the Unrepublic, for wich it hardly stands, one nation, under the sky, with libety, and political correctiveness to all!"
I was actually thinking how sad it is that teachers teach the words to children in kindergarten and have them all chanting oaths and swearing themselves to America before they can even read. Good thing it's not binding. When I realized that in school, I just stood, I didn't say the words. I make a point to be careful with what I say, and I am not American-born. I do respect this country immensely, though, at least, the principles that are still standing.
It must look creepy to other countries the way we drone the pledge every morning with our hands on our hearts in a foreign language, especially after all the antagonism of our country.
Sorry what? Every morning? When and why do you do this? I didn't know about this :?
That is rather creepy.
We despise all reverences and all the objects of reverence which are outside the pale of our own list of sacred things. And yet, with strange inconsistency, we are shocked when other people despise and defile the things which are holy to us.
The easy confidence with which I know another man's religion is folly teaches me to suspect that my own is also. I would not interfere with any one's religion, either to strengthen it or to weaken it. I am not able to believe one's religion can affect his hereafter one way or the other, no matter what that religion may be. But it may easily be a great comfort to him in this life--hence it is a valuable possession to him.
Yes, it is loonie land big time. I have always believed it to be crazy. I remember being three years old on my first day of nursery school and seeing the class do the Pledge of Allegience with their hands on their chests. I was thinking, "What is this weirdness about?" When I was in high school, the Pledge was said every time the school met in the auditorium, and I always refused to say it. I would either say nothing or say words that made a mockery of it. Saying the Pledge of Allegience is bizarre cult behavior, and I think it is insane.
i know. this is kind of off topic, but does anyone else think that the american schooling system is more about teaching us not to question authority than teaching us anything we're going to need to know in the real world? It's the same thing with the pledge, it's like they've forgotten that it's about respect and now they're just brainwashing everyone into thinking the same as everyone else.
if that made any sense
I dont know about other countries' schooling systems... because ive only ever been to school in america :P
sorry i didn't stay on the topic of religion, if you guys wanted that, but i think that arguing religion over the internet (or anywhere for that matter) is the most pointless thing one can ever do. No matter what you say, you're not going to change someone's mind about they're religion or lack of.
I'd say I have to agree with you on that from a general point of view. I think the school system is flawed, and while that has been said a million times before by parents and disgruntled students, I doubt any of those student went out of their way to educate themselves on what they thought they would need later in life like I did. The classes were useless, I knew most of English and History off the top of my head, and I slacked. But that's a little off topic, what I am trying to say is that school is inefficient enough with the stucture it has now. The administrators were jerks, mainly because of all the anti-authority that all the students had in abundance, but still, I don't see any other way around having a brainwash structure to school. Man, only if people could actually want to go to school and be grateful.
I dont think there's anything sad about not telling someone why having religion or not having religion is better. It's more pathetic to actually try and get your opinion out about Religion when there's no way you can prove to someone else whether it's true or not. It's completely pointless, no one will change their minds about their entire believe system because of someone's comment on a forum, and...
you shouldn't be one to talk, you're the most hardheaded member that ever saw the religion section of DV :disconcerted:
Hardheaded?
So far very little of what I have said rests on blind speculation and baseless assumption.
In fact I don't think any of it does. I cannot be hardheaded, because everything I "believe" is based on reasoning and is supported by evidence.
what I meant by hardheaded was "unwilling to change your mind"
which, yes, is another definition of hard headed
