      Burning or Drowning?

Okay, would you rather die by burning or drowning?

Let me put this into perspective.

Drowning: Hold your breath for as long as you can, and when you can't take it anymore, keep holding it in, until you are kicking the floor, then you can hold it in. (Breathe eventually though)

Burning: Think about burning yourself with a candle. Now imagine putting your face in jacuzzi water. Now think about heat so intense your skin blackens and shrinks and sloughs off, and your hair burning, your eyes drying up and breathing in fire and smoke.

Which would you prefer? (If you had to choose, i.e. burning ship in middle of ocean and you can't swim.)

(I'm a pretty darn good swimmer, for one thing. As long as I didn't cut myself in shark-infested waters, I'd go with the water.) ... Oh wait, if I "couldn't swim..."

I'd take drowning. I love water and I would imagine that drowning would be quick and somewhat peaceful.

Burning to death is one of my absolute least favorite possible ways to go. Sure you'd pass out from the pain after a while, but the smell and having to hear yourself scream... Ugh!

Drowning is apparently very peaceful once you quit panicking about your lungs filling up with water and just accept that you're going to die. Not painful at all

Burning on the other hand... my hand still hurts from brushing against a hot casserole dish a few hours ago.

I would burn up at ground zero rather than drown.

So I only experience a nanosecond of pain before I become nothingness.

Apparently people pass out from asphyxiation in fires, so it's not all that bad (relatively).

That's from something slow and sequential, such as being burned at the stake.

If someone throws a molotov cocktail on you, you're gonna feel it.

Hard choice, always kind of wished I could experience both. Death is funny like that, you only get one chance so make it interesting, eh?

Can you repeat that? I didn't quite catch that.

So do I get to pick the circumstances of the burning or drowning? Such as drowning at sea, or in a swimming pool? Burning up in a burning building, or tied to a stake?

Haha. Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. I'm usually one of the type of people that say "I'll try anything once..." but I'd doubt there are too many people that would extend that kind of curiosity/open-mindedness to the act of getting burned alive.

If I had the chance to die multiple ways and clearly recall each of them, I'd totally go for it. That'd be one hell of an experience and I could make a huggeeee list, too.

Well you're braver than I. As I've always said: "It's not death that scares me - it's dying. I don't care how I go, I just don't want to suffer," and I can't think of anything worse than that.

Yeah, I was mostly thinking of a building fire or something.

Even when burning at the stake you're damn lucky if you asphyxiate before you feel pain.

I don't even want to think about the Molotov cocktail example...

Would you believe it, my friend said she'd rather burn?! She said as compared to drowning burning is quick...right...well, it turns out she doesn't like water

As for myself, I don't like fire. I might even pick being skinned alive over burning...though I might possibly count on asphyxiating...

Yeah, if you're not including the people that have said burning.

Well in drowning at least you have the relief of breathing water, but what about hanging?

I don't care how I die. Just kill me. Make it fast.
