      The Most Dangerous Game

I just finished reading The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, a short story about a man who falls out of a yacht and winds up on an island home to a big game hunter. A very insane big game hunter.

I loved the story, I thought it rocked! Has anyone else read this before?

Here's a link: The Most Dangerous Game

Please read it and tell me what you think!

I had to read it for english last year during a short story unit. I thought it was good, one of the better short stories.

I've read that. My brother who hates to read fiction said it was his favorite short story ever. I thought it was great too but mostly because everything else we read was like "life is a rose, my mother was like a flower too... until her pedals fell off..." Anything with great action like that is what we should be reading in school.

2 years ago, we read this in my english class. Funny thing is, after I read it, I saw the spoof of it on The Simpsons.

I read this years ago, and another story that either it was based on or was based on it. Then. more recently, I read it again for english class. Good story.

Read the story, watched the movie, and saw the Simpson parody.

By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.

It took me a few seconds to remember that story. I'll have to look it up again to refresh my memory, but I do remember reading it... in 9th grade, I think. I didn't have a very good appreciation for short-stories at that time (added to that I never did my homework), so I think I just skimmed it.

*puts that on list of things to do this weekend*

We read the trilogy of the Giver in 7th grade.

      Very, very awesome!

Unfortunately, we read it as a class and I was at an ortho appt. when we read the ending of the third book, the Messenger.

But I liked the Giver a lot! And the second one!

we discussed our feelings about the most dangerous game today and what we thought about while we read it...

      two things:

      1. Did general zaroff die? When he states that one of them would, and I quote, "...furnish a repast for the hounds..." did that mean that he would be preparing a meal for the dogs? or that he would be the meal?

      2. Also, when Zaroff was explaining to Raisford about him growing bored of hunting nonreasoning animals, when he said they would go hunting together did he really mean that at that time? Or did he mean hunting together as in hunter, huntee? Did he originally think that Rainsford would like the idea and go hunting with him?

      thanks!
