      It ends a sentence, It is bold and blank. No intense expression. It is the most popular, and while the exclamation point is out partying, and the question mark is looking for answers to life's many question, the period just sits there ready to end most sentences.

      Sadly on Teh Intarweb School O' grammer,
      messes with that period & has many ending sentences with <-smilies

      The period for now remains free, but one day someone will Tax & regulate it.
