Yeah right.
That part fucking sucks.

Ugh. I hate winter because of all the cold that leaks in. Thankfully the windows don't need plastic, but whoever built this house did a shoddy job on choosing my rooftop door. It's some hollow-wood door not meant to keep the weather out, so I have to seal off the cracks with foam, cover it in plastic followed by a sheet or two, and stuff towels by the bottom. I've had a ton of snow leak in the bottom before.
This year I ended up putting a thick foam sheet in the doorway outside, so now I can't even open it.
I hate ohio.
I fucking love every aspect of winter. The bitter cold and numbing snow are almost physical poetry. Even the sucky things, like shoveling the driveway and cleaning my mom's windshield. I fucking love winter.
Shoveling, lacing up the boots, extra blankets, wearing layers, wiping dog's paws off after being outside... all part of the price you pay for living away from the equator. I think it's worth it, though - I gotta have my 4 seasons.
I haven't tried the plastic on windows thing myself. I wasn't sure if it was something that really worked or not - but I may try it this year. There are certain windows where you can actualy FEEL the draft slipping through. One of them is right beside my bed. :/
Do you guys not have double glazing over there??
And I love the winter!!!! Cant wait till next week when I'll be in Austria in minus 15 temperatures enjoying the snow :D
Jeff, it seals out drafts and cold from coming through the window ( http://www.amazon.com/Henkel-00-0912..._sv_edpp_pop_t )
TJ, it actually helps. It's cheap enough that you should give it a try.. especially on the window by your bed! The link above is from Amazon but you can probably get the same thing from Target, Walmart, Home Depot, etc.
.
Thanks Clarity :D - I just might try it this weekend, or sooner (we're supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow through the night, btw).
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the draft from the window by my bed is coming from behind the window appron - I'll be needing to caulk that up.
It's times like these I'm glad I live in the south. We only get snow every 6 - 7 years!! xD
I like winter, I just wish I had better cold tolerance. My bed has a wool blanket, a knit blanket and two huge comforters on it, yet I still slept in long underwear last night.
Maybe I just need a bedwarmer... :ohyahbaby:
Have you two ever met?
Just to let you know, it's 12*F here, with wind chill.
Cleveland's pretty large...
Yea, but in such close proximity, you'd think that something would have been initiated.
Hey, I live in Wapakoneta. It's like, wtf is that? There's about a 10k population, at most. I have to drive to Lima or St Marys in order to find something to do. At least tornadoes never touch down in Wapak.
I miss California. I remember the last time San Jose saw snow was in 1996, and as you can see, people are still talking about it to this day.
We have a lot of DV'ers from Ohio.
I love winter. I love snow as well, it's really pretty in this mountainous area where I live..
Actually, Me and TJ only live about 40 minutes from each other.
Me and Howie live 15 minutes away from each other.
Party together
