      But where lies the line of being/ being not a chicken? I think it is logical that since a single cell was first in the world and then sometime became a chicken, the chicken - or the proto-chicken came first.

      perhaps the very first (discernible) chicken-ancestor* was the result of two long-since extinct species that mated; assuming the female laid eggs, then the egg.

      Yeah I was thinking of it exactly like that ice. Perhaps what makes it a chicken is that it came from an egg. And the parents of the first ever chicken were species that should have given birth to live young.

      the egg... it was a fish kind of egg... then it turned into an amphibian kind of egg... then dinosaur kind of egg... then chicken kind of egg... but long before there was what we know as a chicken there was the egg... therefore the egg came first and the chicken followed.

      p.s. i have no clue what i'm talking about but i must be right because i'm always right.
