We don't know that getting the car in blue was an option. Would he have done better to get her a blue car which wasn't as nice as the one she probably asked for, just because it was blue?

Also, one would think that a teenage girl should be happy enough with not having to buy her own car that she wouldn't throw a tantrum and completely ignore the fact that someone bought a car for her, simply because it was the wrong color. If that's not the epitome of 'spoiled', what is?
