Unhappy Top 10 Racist Limbaugh Quotes

      1. I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back; I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.

      2. You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.

      3. Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?

      4. Right. So you go into Darfur and you go into South Africa, you get rid of the white government there. You put sanctions on them. You stand behind Nelson Mandela — who was bankrolled by communists for a time, had the support of certain communist leaders. You go to Ethiopia. You do the same thing.

      5. Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.

      6. The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.

      7. They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?

      8. Take that bone out of your nose and call me back(to an African American female caller).

      9. I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.

      10. Obama's a halfrican, not an african...not to mention an arab.
I suppose before reading this I was naive. I was under the impression most people who "share his way of thinking" were old, dying or already dead. Babies die every day yet this man continues to live? This is one of many reasons I have for not believing in an "involved" biblical/religious god. This is in SB because statements like this don't deserve lounge worthy views.

What's even worse than this man still being alive is the "millions" of listeners he has. Makes me wonder how many people smile at you every day, yet say things like this behind closed doors...Great progress America, keep up the good work.

Are you sure he said all of that? He sparks world news controversy every time he says "Democrat" and a cuss word in the same sentence, but those insane quotes didn't make the news? Maybe he said those things, but I wonder about your source.

Got me wondering too, even though I definitely have a bias against him. (If somebody says anything supporting him, that person immediately has about as much credibility as Fox News.) If someone says that kind of thing anymore, it's certainly newsworthy. Then, whoever said it pretty much gets their ass beaten into the ground by the NAACP.

Even if somebody supports something he said that is right? Nobody is wrong about absolutely everything. For example, Hitler believed that 2 + 2 = 4. If anybody argues with that belief of his, I will take his side in that particular argument. That does not mean I support killing Jews or taking over countries in Europe.

As someone who listened to Limbaugh regularly as a teenager and read a couple of his books, I'd have to say his credibility is so low that nothing he says should be repeated without finding an alternate, more credible source.

And I've heard him say #1 and #5.

That's really messed up. Why isn't Olbermann playing them every night? The only one I ever heard was the one about Donovan McNabb, which is pretty tame compared to most of them. If those quotes are on tape, Limbaugh's career could be destroyed in a day. Olbermann and Maddow could take him down in a hurry. Maybe they don't want to ruine him completely since his tamer comments are fuel for their careers?

I've seen footage of him saying #1, #7, and #10, where are videos of the rest of them? It's not news that Rush Limbaugh is racist, everyone who knows anything about politics knows that.

By what mechanism? You've been on the internet long enough to know what happens when you feed a troll. He would relish every nanosecond of negative feedback and sell it to his ol' boy audience as the PC police trying to keep him from telling it like it is. Do you think anyone who sponsors this guy would lose a dime from a NAACP boycott?

The sad truth is, he's telling his audience exactly what they want to hear.

Tausaur makes a valid point. Don Imus, for example, was fired (due to growing public demand and massive pressure put on the network demanding his termination) and went on to XM radio and now makes doubled the salary he did at the time of the "Nappy headed hoes" comment.

I thought I cleaned up my old naive ways of overestimating people's consciences, but I am still not totally sure that a large portion of Limbaugh's audience wouldn't think he is ridiculous for talking about slavery as a good thing and arguing that black people are irrelevant. I still don't think even most Republicans want to put somebody on a pedestal when he gets on the radio and says that stuff. I know he said Donovan McNabb was a bigger deal than he would have been if he was a white quarterback and maybe a few other things, but did he really say that slavery kept the streets safe? I think that and other quotes are probably bull shit mixed with things he really did say. (?) I am not sure of that, but it is what I would bet.

What's sad is that America has got to be one of the least racist countries around.

Try going to some place like, oh, Korea, where people in the street don't even bother to pretend that they're not racist.

Anyone who isn't Asian, but especially toward black people. I teach at a middle school where kids say, "Oh yeah? Well you're a black man" to each other as insults.

I'm white and half the male population here assumes I'm a prostitute. I try to date people, and their families are all "Ohhh you can't date her, she's a scary white foreigner, like from those movies we see on TV."

They refuse to let my friends into certain clubs because they're not Korean. If something like that happened in the states, there would be law suits, not to mention a ton of media coverage.

      It's fucking insane.

People like that should be purged from the Earth. You may call me naive and deluded but, I'd like to live in a world where we've evolved past such illogical and irrational primitive ways of thinking.

      Amen.

But I try to remind myself that the reason they act like this is because they don't have the benefit of experience with different cultures and races... what we in the states have had for quite a long time now. Remember that pretty much the first time Korea opened its doors to outsiders was after the Olympics in the late 80s.

*sigh* Sometimes it just really sucks to seemingly step back in time by living in a country like this. Even forgetting the racial problems, people here are SOOOO sexist. Don't even get me started on that one.

The States look pretty good to me right about now.

Hm, I didn't know that. A bit of a history lesson for me.

Yeah, I've heard about the sexism there. But remember you came there to do a job and Mes doesn't rattle

I love my country. Though we've made great strides in terms of racial and gender equality...we still have a pretty lengthy road ahead of us as a nation (and human race for that matter). Just the same though...I'm really really ecstatic I was born here as opposed to being born in a land that lacks racial and cultural diversity. I think it's racial and cultural diversity that shows the uniqueness of the human race. That's something to be marveled, not afraid of. I suppose as more people let go of fear and their hateful indoctrinated ways of thinking...they'll come to realize that.

I'm not rattled. All things considered I'm having the best time of my life here. Despite everything, there are some amazing people here who at this point I can't even imagine life without anymore.

I think it'd be cooler to be born somewhere that was not diverse at all... and then as an adult travel to a place like the States and have a big epiphany or something. Hehe.

Well, I haven't been able to dig up audio/video of #1 (like I said, I heard him say it about 15 years ago, so it's a bit of an oldie), but here's a more recent and even kookier example of him riffing on why black people are angry, left behind, and hate America (see? He starts out in a twisted Neighborhood of Make Believe before he even gets around to saying crazy shit):

Keep in mind when we're talking about Limbaugh's audience, we're not necessarily talking about "most Republicans." This guy jabbers on for hours and hours almost every day, and even a lot of the folks who back him up never hear more than a sound-byte here and there. The people who actually tune in on a daily basis are constantly reinforced in the belief that they're an embattled minority of right-thinking people under assault by gays, feminists, Jews, liberals, atheists and blacks who hate America and want to abolish Christianity and the family. Seriously. Which is not even to say that they're bad people: my old landlord was a Baptist, dittohead ex-cop, and a real stand up guy. He had a very generous and tolerant personality and he and I would have friendly conversations about politics, social issues, and even religion despite disagreeing on almost every point. He was also a textbook "I have nothing against black people, but..." racist.

I have heard that a lot, especially in Japan. I've heard about stories of people who went to Japan, and they were basically treated like some kind of animal. In the "Oh hey, look at the silly white man" kind of way. They were treated rudely by shopkeepers, and people refused to help them. It's pretty bad in a lot of parts of Asia, but it's not so bad in places where they are used to American tourists.
