Tour of Kaniaz's House & Grounds

I think you should all have a tour of my house, ducks and some insight into my life (or whatever there is of it). Click on any image to enlarge it, feel free to use any of them for a wallpaper or something (the duck ones would be nice for that).

Let's start with the ducks, because everybody likes the ducks. We have lots of ducks at our house (well, like, 4 adult ones). They recently had babies, have a look:

#1: Father Holding one of the Ducklings

This was taken a few days after the arrival, we were all pretty excited about it. This is one of my favourite ones, the little black and yellow ones. (Sadly, one of them died because a board in the duck pen fell over and squashed it, but we have another one so it's okay, just life I guess).

#2: Lil' Brother Holding the other Black Duckling

The same date as the one above. They're so cute...

      #3: Ducklings with their Mom

That's all the ducklings in one go, following their mom. It's intresting, because they know who their mom is completely, from day one, and there's another duck that looks exactly the same as the mother to me, but they seem to know how to discern between the two.

#4: Close Up of the Ducklings (and the mom's butt)

      Cue "Aww" noise.

#5: All Our Ducks (except for the other female)

That's all the ducks, apart from the other female who was sat on her eggs at the time. The green and white one is the Muscouve duck, and we suspect he fathered the two black and yellow ones. He's called "Muscove" (original huh) The white one is called "Donald", and we got him off a woman who rescued him from a barn place thing, where all he had was a small box of water to sit in (he could barely sit in it). He didn't have any other duck friends. So, now we have him. We think he fathered the yellow ones. Which reminds me, he disappeared recently. We haven't found his body or anything, so we can only conclude he's wandered off and got killed somewhere. Still, his ducklings will carry on the legacy of the white duck I suppose.

      #6: Going for a Swim

The mom took them all in the duck pond the other day. It was funny to watch, because the ducklings learnt how to wash themselves. She dips her head in and shakes, and all the ducklings were soon doing it too. It was really nice to watch.

      #7: Duck Staring Competition

I took this photo when the ducks were being kinda stupid - they're pretty stupid ducks. We once removed the gate and replaced it with a smaller one, and they kept running into the fence where the old gate used to be! Weird...

      #8: Duck House Pen Thing

We have to put the geese and ducks in this pen buiding thingy so the fox dosen't eat them every night. Occasionaly we have to pick them up and pratically cart them into the room, they're relucant to go in.

We've also got geese. I like the geese more than the ducks (Geese rule). One's female, and one's male. You can discern the two because the female one's markings on her chest resemble a sort of bra, which is kinda funny yet convinent. Here's a few pictures I just taken for this post:

      #9: Geese in Pond

There's no sound to this pic (duh), but if there was all you would hear is "HONK HONK HONK". They always start honking when you get close. Sorry it's so blurry, I had to get it before they escaped the pond. It's a stupidly large image for some reason. I see. I set the resolution high for all these pictures. Shit.

#10: Geese in Pond, with Ultra Honking Action

I caught one of the geese mid-honk.

Now for the tour of the house, starting from my dear bedroom.

      #11: My Deer's Bedroom

That's my bedroom. The desk is a bit too messy. I spend like, most of my day in the chair on DV. I love DV.

#12: Top Down View of the Desk

My desk. It's pretty much up to date at the time of this writing, with all the items in the photo still here, except it's a new pepsi bottle (full of pepsi), and the donut case thing has gone.

If we turn round 180 degrees and walk out of my door, you come to:

#13: Photo Thing We Got from NASA When We Went To America And Got Signed By A Spaceman

On one of our holidays to America, we went to NASA. Went twice, actually (been to America four..actually it may be five times). First time, before 9/11, you could waltz into the NASA visitor thing really easily, but the next time we went, after 9/11, there were tons of guards there making sure you didn't have a gun or something. We also got the poster signed by a former astronaut, I think his name was <something> Bush. He didn't actually go on the spaceflight in the picture, but we got his signature because we rule. I hope he hurries up and dies so we can flog the poster for a ton of money. I wish I had some pictures of when we went to Vegas, that was great. Would of been funny if we unwittingly took a picture of WerBurN in it, but it was like back in 1999 when we went... Anyway:

      #14: The Autograph

I zoomed in on the picture so you can see his autograph. I can't read his handwriting, so I have no idea who it is. There's many other souvenirs we got from NASA along this wall, but I couldn't be assed to take pictures of them all. Good thing I didn't, because my modem has had to upload 24MB of photos for your viewing pleasure. Turning right and going down the hall, then turning right again reveals:

#15: Bathroom One (The Least Crappy One)

The people that used to live here were nice people, but they "accidentaly" forgot to mention some problems. The toliet to this bathroom blocks sometimes (ugh) and the bath isn't very nice looking on the bottom of it, but that's not as important. Anyway, no need for anymore pictures of the bathroom, it's not like you'd care about that anyway.

Turning left from exactly where we are standing is...

      #16: My Brother's Bedroom

You're quite lucky to get a photo of it when it's not so much of a bomb site. Usually it's got crap all over the floor, and walking in it would make coal walkers go green with envy that you can sucessfully withstand the pain that standing on several thousand peices of legos and electronic elephant things inflicts upon your feet.

      Turning left again, we see:

      #17: My Parent's Bedroom

It's not exactly that intresting, but here's a quick anecdote. When we bought the house, alsorts of shrubbery managed to cover the windows of this room and prohibit you from seeing the nice rolling hill view out there. So, my dad went in with a chainsaw and performed a massacre of plants that made all the nautralists in a 10 mile radius cry. Also, the cat's on the bed here, so let's zoom in on kitty (he's called Jasper).

      #18: Jasper/Kitty/KITTYKITTYKITTY

We rescued Jasper/Kitty/KITTYKITTYKITTY from my father's business grounds. Just opposite where his business is, is a barnyard type place. There was a cat (Jasper) that was always locked away in a barn with all the chickens for some reason. My father went in and rescued him one day without telling anybody about him, and took him home to us. He was damned pleased about it (the cat). Now he just sits around and gorges himself on several pouches of cat meat a day. The woman that owned the cat thinks he's just ran away. She isn't a very good cat owner, as you may of figured. If we look up from the cat, you can see:

#19: The Ensuite (The just-about-usable bathroom)

This bathroom is small, has a shower that we don't use (because I'm afraid the dirt in it may just come alive and eat me). The radiator in here is splattered with mud directly the other side of the toliet, as if somebody couldn't aim their poo into the bowl. Nice.. Going back out the bedroom door and turning right, we can go down...

      #20: The Hallway

Another anectode for you. When we bought this house, we opened the door and walked in. And it smelt absolutely SHIT. It smelt of dogs. Dogs, dogs, dogs poo, dogs wee, dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs. It was just sickening. It was making me wonder if it wasn't actually a bungalow but one of Hitler's old gas chambers. We ran to all the windows and opened them, and it took roughly a week for the entire dog smell to leave. The house is nice and clean now, but these photos probably make it look horrible and ugly. Oh dear. Oh, and you can see my bedroom's door to the left, that poster you saw earlier to the right, and you can make out the side of the frame with a bunch of NASA Apollo badges in or something. Anyway, walking down a bit and turning right, we can see:

      #21: The Living Room

Oh my! It's a chainsaw wielding madman in the house! Argh! Well, no, not really, it's just my little brother holding a peice of the new christmas tree in his hand. I took this photo about 3 hours ago, I wonder if it's finished yet.

Turning left and going through the door (if we turned left again, all we'd see is a door to the outside - not worth 700KB of space). Turning our head to the left is:

      #22: The Dining Room

It's not really a room. It just sort of joins on to the kitchen. I remember when it was empty when we first came here, and I sat in a chair drinking Cola and eating chips waiting for it to get finished so I could sit in my new room. Turning our head right, we see:

      #23: The Kitchen

This is just well, the kitchen. Another story - when we got the house the cooker thing was almost ready to set on fire, so we ordered a replacement...which took 6 weeks to turn up. 6 weeks of TV dinners, ugh. Anyway, going through that door to the left...

#24: Utility Room & Back Door

When we got this house, this was the most smelliest room. The bathroom at the back is the worst one, and is completely unusable. Going down and turning left, we can see the...

      #25: Garage

Full of crap, like any good garage. The attic hatch is here too:

      #26: Attic Hatch

Not sure why I took a photo of this, but I did anyway. I shrunk it to decrease the size marginally, because it's not really any use uploading a 700KB picture of a loft hatch huh.

      ==

And that's it. Hope you enjoyed the tour
There were 15 more outside pictures with lovely rolling fields and horses and stables and god knows what else, but I couldn't be bothered to upload another 8MB of stuff, it was taking waaay too long.

Thanks Kaniaz! Haven't been home since late August so it gave me a feeling of home...barely, but still. Anyway, I'm smitten with cats!.... any of them to be exact! Yours is so lovely and I wish I could pet it!

.....*misses her kitty* I have to wait until Christmas to see her!

Oh, and I like your house. It's neat-o!

and cute baby duckies...... but aww that sucks about the board squashing one of them... I couldn't be the one to clean that up.....

      anyway..... nice house.....
