Yeah but they don't cheat, it's called tactics. Pirates gets ships, swords, rum, guns and cannons and parrot scouts. Ninjas gets stealth, blades, ninja stars.

Pirates were also notorious criminals with the capacity to organize in very large numbers on the fly. What a fantastic sociology paper that would make.
