Asking dream figures to give you lucidity?

I've read about creating a dream figure expressly for this purpose. A figure of whom could only exist in a dream, so when you see them, you immediately know you're dreaming--on top of it, programming that figure to actively let you know you're dreaming

In my last LD, I demanded that a dream figure let me know every single time I'm dreaming that I am in a dream. It was an impulsive move, but when I woke, I was like, "Hey, not a bad idea." Getting the entire unconscious brain to let you know when you're dreaming.

3 regular dreams later, no dice.

Anyone have any luck in this regard? Using dream figures to let you know you're dreaming?

Interesting. I have not tried this, but when a real person is passed away or far away. I use the image of them. I have a passed away father. I will tell myself many times that anytime I am with Dad I am clearly dreaming. That does work for me very well.

I saw an article titled Character Assisted Lucid Dream. I didn't read it but maybe this was what it was about so I'd suggest checking into that.

Did you mean something like this, Charles?

I don't want to steal the thread, but this is something I really want to ask in more general way: Have you guys asked a DC - or the dream itself - to help you somehow with lucid dreaming? Because many people say they want to ask the dream for advice to be lucid every night. But I haven't yet read that anyone actually did it, and how it helped. Is there any similar thread around?

I managed to ask this question twice in my dream: "How can I get more lucid dreams?" and got somewhat confusing reactions...

I was excited about this idea awhile back if you could just program someone too tell you you are dreaming it would be much easier. In reality you would only really be programming yourself too remember you are dreaming, even if it was a Dream character. Also you would have too program this specific dream character too appear in your Dream every night :-) So even if it sounds like a clever plan it would just really be simple mnemonic method or any other Dream sign induced lucid.
But if you already are dreaming about a specific person, you could try and make them your Dream sign tell yourself everytime you see them you will know your dreaming. (like Siv was saying)

      Yeah! Thanks. Thats it.

This was the one I saw
      CALD Tutorial

It seems like it would require a consistent character who will regularly appear and help in this way. Well, I will try it if I have the chance. Reading howtolucid's story was interesting so thanks
