Do you have a Task of the Month suggestion that you would love to get chosen? Now you have the chance to suggest new tasks of the month by clicking the Future Task of the Month Suggestion Thread. If you complete a current TOTM, you will be able to vote on suggestions for the next month! Introduction: This topic is for the Lucid Tasks that are assigned by the Lucid Task Club and the On-Topic Administrator. Please attempt any or all of these tasks throughout the month. Report back in this thread, even if you didn't successfully accomplish the task. Your efforts should make interesting reading! This is required in order to get credit, it is no longer sufficient just to say that you did it. How to get your wings: When you complete a task: Go to your control panel, then to permission groups, and request to be in the group that applies to the task that you've done: one basic or both, one advanced or both, bonus or how many tasks of the year. Please note, that we now have wings for every task. Requesting to join the group will upon approval also grant you access to Lucid Task Club. Of course, you still need to post the pertinent part of the dream here and link to your DJ entry. Format of your post: [Basic, Advanced...] -[Name of the Task] - [success or fail] - [pertinent part of a dream] - [link to dj] For example: Basic - Drive a car - success When you post about another successful attempt, please tell me if it was your first or second task from basic or advanced tasks, or first, the second... seventh task from the task of the year. I need to know this so I know which wings to give you. If you only say "completed TOTY - flying car", this doesn't tell me which wings with how many stars should I give you. Please, make sure you post here your attempts both failures and successes, this will make this post much more dynamic. Whoever completes any of these tasks gets the following goodies until the end of the month: Your name will be displayed in ORANGE in the online member's list at the bottom of the main forum page. *NEW* You'll also be displayed in orange purple (by popular vote) in our Discord. You will receive a special title and badge. You will receive access to the "Lucid Task Club" which is a limited-access forum for people that complete a lucid task each month. Members of this club can vote for submitted suggestions for the next month's tasks. Got a basic and advanced task today. Also, I attempted a completely false task once again. Spoiler for Basic Task i - Stare at a ceiling fan until it becomes a vortex - Success: The visuals were dim. WILD transition in bed. A Feel Deep Inside by T-Square was sounding in the background. Noticed I had trouble moving. Choosing to remain in state, I turned to the ceiling fan as per the TOTM. As expected, it was already in motion. It steadily spun faster. Interestingly, it even achieving the stroboscopic effect. Anyway, the blades continued rotating, even after they'd been forcefully dislocated from their mechanisms. In time, violent winds were blowing across the room. With that, stray objects were vacuumed all around this space, myself included. As I was flung about, I could spot the funnel of a whirlwind surrounding me. Nice. Task done. Spoiler for Advanced Task ii - Bring a clay statue to life - Success: ...Among the clutter, I took notice of a clay pot filled with soil. I could work with that. Smashing the entirety of such between my hands, I created a glob of raw orange colored clay. Next, I mold a simple statuette of a thin, featureless humanoid. I seat the figure on the counter, and, through magical hand gestures, try bringing it to life. But instead, the figure vanished before my eyes. I reach over, and pretend it's still there. However, that didn't do anything. Doubt pulls at my nerves. The dream, I feared, would soon fade as well. Unexpectedly, my niece unexpectedly clings on to my neck. By chance, that seemed to help keep stability. In any case, I had to throw things at the wall at this point. I resorted to shrinking myself (as well as my niece and bro), just to see what would happen. Rapidly, we shrank down to a few centimeters in height, and landed somewhere atop the counter. On closer inspection, we were seated on the lap of a huge figure. It was the statuette, only at our scale, it appeared as a huge statue 30ft. in height! Not only that, but the sculpture took on a more defined form, that of a carving of a woman with long hair, wide lips, and pronounced hips. Overall, her features were seemingly of early modern human origin. Much to my satisfaction, the statue turns her head towards me. She smiles down, and speaks, addressing me as "master". Wasn't quite sure how to take that. Regardless, I was glad for this win. Another task complete... Spoiler for Fake Task: ...At this moment, I recalled having fallen asleep a moment ago. This helped me gain true awareness. I think of tasks to do. The ceiling fan one seemed out of the question. Yet, I couldn't recall any others. So, I conjured a list to jog my memory. On it was printed a supposed advanced task that read as follows: "Perform a stealth kill on a monster with only a single shot." Well, seemed legit. With a flick of my wrist, I conjured a semi-auto hunting rifle w/scope. Next, I took aim at the flame woman (which I supposed qualified as a monster). Tracking her was quite difficult, given that she was still bouncing off her opponent. Didn't help that the scope was magnified excessively. Taking a deep breath, I slowed things down to "bullet-time". Carefully, steadily, I lined my sights right at the side of her head... Just then, I felt myself in bed. Advanced ii: Make a clay figure and give life to it. Fail I've found an island with some kind of clay on the ground. I grab some and start to form a body. As I'm halfway through I notice that there are some details that I did not add but the dream added. It looks aesthetic so I am happy either way. I look at my creation and want to take a picture so that I can show it in Dreamview's forum. I think about how I can't take the picture out of the dream and stop trying to find a camera (I was not fully convinced that I could not take it with me out of the dream but decided that it would indeed be very hard and that I probably would not succeed this time). It is dark and some DCs that hunted me earlier are now friendly and I ask them if I can borrow a flashlight. I am spending some time talking with them and as I am finally about to finish the clay figure, now with a flashlight in my hand, I notice that the surface of the island is now som kind of fabric instead. I am not able to work with the new material and notice how the dream slowly fades. It was a task that challenged me in the dream which makes it so that I definitely want to try it again. Basic II - Surfing - Success (I think) I get lucid and teleport myself to outside. Remember to do the TOTM but cant do the ceiling fan thing because I am outside now, so I go for the surf thing. I visualize the ocean just over the end of a hill nearby and I start hearing the water. I go there and half way walking on grass, the ground beneath me disappears and I fall from the sky into the ocean. Amidst the waves, I try to visualize a surf board but it does not work. I kinda feel it but I do not see it, so I catch a wave in an invisible board. Then i see some kids surfing. One of them fall from his board and I "borrow" it. They are pissed about it, but I tell them it's just to catch one wave and I'll give it back. But the waves are really flat. I catch two, but have difficulty in taking any pleasure in the experience. Feels more like sliding over flat water, than actually surfing, as the waves are so small.
