So last night I read up on the Uberman sleep schedule and the Everyman sleep schedule (I've heard of them before, but never actually considered it...til now).
One thing I always hated about high school was the times. I have to get up at 6 am and I only begin to feel awake around 9-10 am, but even then I get this muted, dulled sense of perception. I tend to fall asleep around 11 pm because I have homework to finish and a social life to attend to...I end up never having enough time to do all that I want, and end up always feeling tired in the end.
So I thought about these sleep schedules...uberman doesn't really sound like my kind of thing, because I like flexibility incase I need to move a nap and whatnot. Everyman seems very doable, and I'll still have a minor sense of the days...and I would only have to do one or two nap times during school (I'm going to be a senior, so I can use free periods to my advantage hopefully).
I was planning on doing this during either Christmas or February vacation, to give me some time to adjust without a school schedule at first...and by then I will be 18 as well, not that I have heard of any major consequences of being under 18 and doing this.
Since I feel tired during school anyway, I figured I had nothing to lose..but I do have a question. I'm a REALLY deep sleeper. Like, pick me up and carry me around the house and I won't even know I've been moved. Shake me a lot and I won't respond. Will a polyphasic sleep schedule make me a light sleeper? This is a minor question, but I love being a deep sleeper...I wouldn't want that to change.
Sorry about the long post!
