Apparently the average time for someone to fall asleep is 7 minutes. Usually I'm around 15 but I'm having sleeping problems sleeping at the moment. |

Is there any way of intentionally falling asleep faster? I know instant sleep is probably impossible but is there any way to make it happen consistently in say, under 5 minutes? I know the standard things such as exercise in the day, don't exercise right before bed etc but these are generic sleep aids. I wanted to know if there is any specific technique to achieve fast times to fall asleep. |

I've heard your body releases melatonin at 9pm-10pm more than any other time in the day, which helps with falling asleep. Get out of bed if you closed your eyes for awhile and begin to get frustrated, I will usually get up and get on the computer for about 30 more minutes and then lay back down. I heard fans help, because they are easy to block out and they cover up outside background noise. Try to get rid of X-factors like needing to go to the bathroom, are you hungry, and do you have some things you need to do. I also like to prepare my bed where it is comfortable as I'm about to go to bed. |

You should try listening to Yoga Nidra. Someone posted the mp3 somewhere on this forum, can't remember where though. Or just google it. I can take up to an hour or more to fall asleep. But with Yoga Nidra my mind goes fuzzy in just a minute and the next thing I know, well, I haven't yet been able to listen to the entire mp3! I fall asleep every time! |
