i'm to excited..( in the beginning already!)

      hey
so i started like 5 days ago with these new experiences
but on the past days i had a pretty hard time falling asleep.
and the part that worries me is that im already way to excited! i mean! when i go to bed it the feelings in my belly start to rise! even if i listend to some really relaxing and meditative like music it happens. at that point my cleared mind fills it selfs with thoughs about dreams and what will happen the upcomming night.

its vacation now over here so im going to bed arround 1 AM.
but because of the excitement this can be like 2 AM or later!
i have a feeling that this also influence my recall and that i had a rather bad recall with only tiny snippets.

do some of you have some tips for me to go to bed relaxed? because i don't think this is healthy either. it may be vacation now but at the start of 2011 school begins again so i need to be able to do dream related things but also need to be fresh and awake for school!

      thanks in advance!

      First of all, to DV!

As for the excitement, I'd say it helps with both recall and lucidity! Motivation is a huge part of lucid dreaming. It is still of course possible to be both tired and excited. It's all a matter of finding the perfect balance.

If meditation doesn't do it for you, I'd suggest exercising during the day. A one hour walk is usually sufficient. Also, stay away from screens the last hour before going to bed. Reading a book before going to bed helps a ton for.

If this doesn't do it you can always try reversed blinking.

      1. Keep your eyes closed for about 5 seconds.
2 Quickly open them and then shut them again.
      3. Repeat this process until you barely feel like you can open your eyes anymore. At this point you're extremely close to falling asleep. It's usually the last thing I remember before falling asleep.

Good luck and keep up the excitement!

      what a great idea!
my sister gave me a book yesterday wich is about dreaming. what certain dream signs mean etc! i dont have a light at my bed but i already found a solution to that i will put some christmas lights arround my neck (LOL!)
after that i will try that reversed blinking it sounds pretty good to try!
do i have to combine that with the 'i will remember my dream!' mantra?

Arigato! (hehe i just love japanese!)
