TV Doctors say Nightmares cause Heart Attacks, is this true?

I"ve had plenty of nightmares of being possesed etc.
I haven't died but do nightmares cause heart attacks? Necesarily?

or people who have had heart attacks from nightmares are just really unlucky?

I thought nightmares were normal and possibly healthy for us(even if scary and aweful). I mean, we have them naturally....so why would they be that bad for us?

I am sure it's true. I have had a few back in the early days and it felt like my heart was going to explode when I awakened! I just knew I was close to something life threatening. I have played all kinds of sports and other hugely taxing physical events but those few times my heart beat like never before. I can imagine that if I had a flaw in my heart, or circulatory system, that I would have been one of those poor suckers who just died in their sleep.

"TV Doctors" ...what does that even mean?

A nightmare is not going to cause a heart attack for a normal healthy person. Perhaps if someone has a bad heart or clogged arteries and might be predisposed to having a heart attack, I suppose it could be possible. But I'd need to see some real evidence before considering the issue. For the most part it is generally understood that nightmares can't harm you...and I think the body actually has safety mechanisms to prevent such a thing from occurring.

The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

I'd say don't worry about what you can't control, so what can you control.

      1. You can, with practice, control your dreams.
      2. With exercise and a sensible eating you can control your health.
      3. If you are lucky you can see a doctor too. (I understand a lot of people in the world do not have access to a doctor). Chest pains should be looked into but don't always have anything to do with the heart.
      4. Watch less TV. TV is based on money which is, in this case, based on pleasure and fear, prime example: Dr. Oz said just a few hours ago on TV that we should wear sunscreen SPF 30 even if your not going outside! (with the sunscreen, roof, ceiling, and walls that's what, like SPF 300,000?)

Even though I have had some pretty scary events I am not worried about it. Remember just this fear is going to make you more stressed out. Concentrate on what you can do and live your life to its fullest! "Everyone dies but not everyone lives." If you concentrate more on really living your life with passion you'll be healthier and happier. It sounds corny but its true.

I really don't like that show. This makes me even more angry. I think that unless you have some kind of major health problem, there shouldn't be a problem.
