Hi, just as the topic suggests I think my sleep cycle is damaged. And the cause is using a light cue repeatedly night after night for many months. Because the cue has no REM sensor it usually goes off way before REM. I also realised that I did wake up suspected before REM to reset the switch in my hand and then go back to sleep I have no memory of doing that whatsoever but when I wake up I find the switch has been reset regardless of the duration of the time delay set so some point in time I did wake up and it's before REM . And I believe this has created a habit of waking up and then going back to sleep at some point in the sleep cycle thereby interupting the dreaming process. My dream frequency had plummeted from 3 to 5 a night to one or none at night. I realised what I had done and decide to take some natural sleeping pills to sedate the mind to not wake up and hopfully create the habit of not waking up...anyone has any other suggestions? Thanks.
