replace the coffee with orange juice? Caffeine makes you crash, juice has different types of sugar, and vitamins, those keep you awake. Also, adrenaline too, so go work out a little.

Don't know what exactly your problem is, but I am very tired and still sleepy even after 13 hours of sleep. Do you have sleep paralysis? If so, you may have narcolepsy.

It may not be a sleep problem, but may be some other health problem, you should see a doctor to check it out.

      Green tea!
Its delicious, and its 0 calories, and if you drink it it gives you lots of energy.
or eat more bananas, they have natural sugars that give you energy.

Sleeping long is not a bad thing. I usually sleep about 12 hours on the weekend/holidays. When I need to get up for school I'm also death tired but I figured out what to do against it. I noticed that when I planned something awesome for the weekend and it's early I wake up without being tired but when I have to wake up for school at the same time I'm very tired. I think it's because when you want to wake up for something voluntary then you are like "this is going to be awesome I mustn't miss it" but when you wake up for something you don't like it's "Hmm I hate to stay up in the morning". It's some kind of a placebo effect so I tried to find something in school that makes it worth to wake up. Guess what...it worked!
For the coffee...I would also recommend to drink orange juice because coffee just sucks (no offense to those who drink it for the taste )
      I hope this helps!

I have the same sort of problem and am going to go to the doctor, probably get a blood test to check my iron level etc. It can't hurt for you to get it checked out.

Thanks. I don't go for a couple weeks and then I'll have to wait for results but I'll let you know. Yeah, let me know how it goes for you too even though this thread will be a few weeks old by then.

tbh you are over sleeping, try sleeping 8 hours make your self get up see how you feel that day. I always feel tired If I sleep for longer then 10 hours.

yes that would be the obvious answer. but i think it requires more then just that. I find, it helps to stop fighting it. I sleep when i need to and thanks to the advice above (thank you people)i do my best to eat and drink well, green tea, orange juice, supplements, excercise, meditation, Katsuno's placebo... and I find that has helped tremendously. I have more energy and sleep better. but for some sleep is a real problem! good luck sleepy heads!

I'm pretty sure exercise helps this condition alot of times.

sleeping to much can get you tired, that`s a paradox but that`s reality

on the other hand, our subconcsious tends to help, protect or sabotage our life

it might be that you don`t really like the thing you are studying, it doesn`t get you excited and you don`t have any general idea what you are going to do after you finish, so your deeper mind tries to protect you and that`s the only thing it can do at this time, pull you back from the world

people who hate their jobs become depressed, that`s a protection mechanism telling them "this sh*t just isn`t for you, I make you feel miserable, so you will go and find something else"

but some people are too smart for their own good

nope, not trolling, talking from experience

I had a bunch of jobs, I hated all of them, I just couldn`t wake up in the morning and make myself go there, slept over 10 hours still was tired

I hated university too and slept a lot, but in my case it envolved partying and drinking almost daily

so there is no undermotivated person, it`s more like you don`t really give a rats ass about your goal, regardless of what you tell to others or yourself about it

the main message is at 5:24 minutes ... feel free to watch the rest if you like it

Very true, hpnfreak. I think tiredness and apathy are largely caused by the stuff you talk about though it's good to check in/work on the physical aspect too. I just found out, btw, that I am anemic so hopefully iron supplements will help for the physical aspect.
