Lightbulb What do you do right before going to sleep?

Used the search function, didn't manage to find a topic like this.
Basicly, just share the last few actions you do right before going to sleep.

      In my case that'd be;

      - Have a smoke
      - Drink half a glass of Coke (regular, not the light or diet crap)
      - Close the roller thing of my skylight
      - Lay in bed and wait for the sleep to come (which may take hours )

Yes, my habits are veeerrrryyyy healthy, concerning my teeth *cough*

      - Sometimes meditate for ~30min
      - Mantra based on my current lucid goals.

      2 hours before sleeping time:
Drink a glass of apple juice - improves dream recall.

      1 hour before sleeping time:
Take a hot shower - raises your body temperature and decreases again making it easier to fall asleep.

      45 minutes before sleeping time:
Lay in bed and read a good book - no tv since it stimulates your brain and prevents you from falling asleep.

      20 minutes before sleeping time:
Do this exercise combined with stretch and relax exercises.
I'm usually asleep within 20 minutes.

Usually I take a shower, and sometimes relax or meditate. I log the date and time in my dream journal and put it next to my bed. Then I go to the bathroom so I don't dream of seeing toilets everywhere. xD

Usually reading on my laptop right before sleep which probably negatively effects my ability to fall asleep. I can be reading anything from the bible, to conspiracy theories and usually i read some DV stuff.

Take a piss, try to force shitting in case it's on it's way

Have a big cup of coffee gulp it down as fast as I can.

When I have a day off (night work) open the window and blinds so my room gets all nice with the cold air, leave it open the whole night. Otherwise shut the blinds with a bit of light still coming thru it, complete darkness drives me insane to a point I feel non-existant.

If I do both of them within 5 minutes before going to bed, I tend to fall asleep quite easily, lol.
Of course when I let more time in between, I'm fucked.

Not everyday, but when I have time:

      - do sports (Dancing )or Yoga
      - take a cool shower
      - write my diary and take some vitamin b for a better dream recall
      - hope to dream lucid this night and use MILD or VILD for it..

This is usually what I do.

Clean up around my apartment a bit.
      Brush my teeth.
Text my girlfriend for a while.

After one of us decides to sleep then I try falling asleep. Usually it doesn't take too long.

      Generally, I:

      - Eat some tums so I don't wake up the next day feeling like acid has been melting my throat.
      - Turn the fan all the way up, even if it's freezing cold. I can't fall asleep without white noise.
      - Put on, on low volume, a DVD of a comedy show that I know by heart (usually American Dad!) so I don't even have to pay attention to it to feel comforted by having it on. Again, white noise.
      - Occasionally, browse the internet on my phone for several hours even if I'm not really doing anything on it despite how much I want to fall asleep. The TV show comes in handy during those times, too lol.

Normally I draw for ten minutes or so before bed; before that, I drink a glass of milk and then brush my teeth.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Haven't really followed this topic since I've been off DV for quite a while.
Nice to see some more people wrote their 'rituals' here.

The last thing I do before going to bed is usually check my email one more time, then use the bathroom. I usually have the lousy fortune of almost drowsing off but suddenly having to pee again an hour later... and then another hour later... but I eventually fall asleep around 3 AM. The weird part is that I don't drink much of anything before bed, just a couple sips of water after brushing my teeth, and the annoying part is that my hands will feel really dry around the second or third bathroom break, as though my bladder has been siphoning all the moisture out of my skin.

      Brush my teeth
Drink a tiny sip of water
      Optional: read
Try to fall asleep while lying on my back because I read somewhere that it's better to lie on your back than on your side, but actually I don't know whether that was just BS or actually true
Eventually flip over to one side and fall asleep instantly.

Wake up to find out the book has left the earth's surface, I have lost track of what page I'm currently at, or both.

Same here. My first WILD experience was whilst laying straight on my back, as some tutorial directed me to.
It worked from the first time.. it was the last time as well.

All scientists wrote ages before and all know it no bath at night cause its wake U up so after shower U have bigger difficulties to fall a sleep caffeine isn't good but because vitamins B6 and B12 helps U get in LD i try drinking milk all day + 2 energy drink "MONSTER" what have 260% of B12 and about 80% of B6 daily allowance and truly I had most vivid dreams that I could't have from ages but in long run overdose of dose vitamins give U lots of crap so truly meditation helps I prefer visualisation with songs of shaman from Africa, Indians U.S, as Mexico believing with that I get crazy stuff going on when I in LD's... no water 4h before sleep for sure... spanking the monkey before sleep help me just to fall a sleep 20 min earlier and didn't want to have sex when I lucid so I can concentrate on different thinks like killing, flying, chat with DC, try other things etc. sleep on back always brings LD(if U are not drunk) as myself I cant fall a sleep on my back but still trying other methods still sometimes wakeup in middle of night on my back but then DIELD its impossible for me try many times waste of time if its about me( sleep on your back give U LD to force changing uncomfortable position... prob. of Nightmares" that's some of me research. THX FOR READING !

I Post/browse on DV, Facebook, etc, then I sit on the couch with my family and talk with them, more Dreamviews, and then finally sleep.

Sometimes I get paranoid that someone on DV has liked my post and I have to get up and check. Part of my DV addiction :p

Most of the time I'll go on Facebook, and more recently DV. I'll lay in bed for a few hours and chat with my fiancé until I become drowsy. Use the bathroom, crawl back into bed, close my eyes and repeat my mantra.
