      Everyman Schedule around school

I would like to start Polyphasic Sleeping...
I think I shall start with the Everyman schedule.. and dependent on how I find it after a month or so, I may gradually change it to Uberman schedule.

At the minute I Monophasic sleep from about 11pm-7am every night.

I have a two week break coming up soon with no responsibilities, so I can change my sleep pattern in this time.

School consumes the time from about 7:30-16:00 every day (except Saturday and Sunday), and I after reading that Everyman naps should be had every 5 hours I am enquiring whether there is an alternate way I can follow the Everyman schedule whilst staying alert at school.

There is not really an option to sleep at break or lunch times, there aren't really any private areas it would be suitable to sleep in.

      Thanks alot guys :-)

      EDIT:
      Possible Plan:
      Core Nap:1.40am-4.40am
      1st Nap 8am-8.20am
      2nd Nap 3.40pm-4pm
      3rd Nap 10pm-10.20pm

      Total sleep time =4hrs

      Opinions?

I have a similar problem. I'm in college, and next quarter my schedule is packed, which both makes it great to be on Everyman (more time to do work) and terrible (if I get the internship I want, I'm looking at a 9-hour period with no breaks one day a week).

What I'm planning on doing is Everyman with a 4.5-hour core nap, so you only need 2 naps during the day, something like 6.5 hours apart. 7:30am-4pm means you'll have to go 8.5 hours every day without a nap... Hey, that's like me, only every day of the week. That sucks. I would say just put a nap right before and one right after, and put your core sleep halfway between your naps. With the 4.5-hour core nap, you do need more sleep (a bit over 5 hours), but I think it's easier to fit into your schedule. Really, though, you should look into taking a nap at school. There must be a library or something where you could sleep for 20 minutes. I haven't heard much about Everyman 4.5 (or is it just called Everyman 4? 5?), at least not on this site, whereas there are several threads about Everyman 3. I'm guessing it would work though...

Edit: Never mind, there is another thread about it. It's Everyman 2, as in 2 naps... I get it now lol.

      Hello.

If I used Everyman 3 and I had to prolong a waking time (I would have to because of school - same as you), I would schedule the longest waking time between the core sleep and the first nap. I haven't tried polyphasic sleep yet. You can read my idea in this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/f41/planni...stions-124009/ .

If you decide to try polyphasic sleep, I wish you good luck and easy adjustment.

That is an interesting idea madvorak, but it's somewhat inconsistent with one of my personal goals with switching to Everyman, which is to be able to stay up late and have time in the morning too. However, in theory that sounds like it would work better than trying to sandwich your long waking period between two shorter naps, so it might be good for someone else. Another bonus I just thought of is that you'll have somewhere to be right after your core nap, so you'll be less likely to oversleep.
